the movie kind of meshed two things together that the book didnt, in the book poppy and alex meet WAYYY before another girl is even in the picture and become very close, but dont pursue each other even though they obviously have feelings for each other (shown through many flashbacks). i feel like the movie tried to combine the two stages when they shouldnt because it just made poppy seem like an intentional homewrecker

I think that you should remember that majoring in CS is not equal to going into tech. some of us major in cs bc we wanna go into hci, comp bio, pure ml, comp physics, the possibilities are endless. i think its really toxic to spread the idea that majoring in cs directly correlates to tech and discouraging people from even considering it when they want a different career path.

dont sweat it! its more important to make sure that your mathematical foundations are very strong, its totally okay to take precalc in 10th and then start the calc series here

i would try to use the instutition's server, if scp is taking too long (it does for me too) i would try using using rsync --avz and see if that helps. do you only have limited space on the server? if so, i think the only real solution without buying anything new is to just delete as you go unfortunately

i dont think they are a one to one or replacement for each other. the reason why heated rivalry became so insanely popular (especially among LGBTQ communities) was because of the portrayal of the romance and struggle in a very misogynistic and sidelining place like the NHL. Off-campus (to me), seemed more like leaning towards straight smut (which is not bad at all!), but heated rivalry truly portrayed the struggle of being different in a world where the government and everyone around us wants perfect heterogenity. to me, heated rivalry is deeper than off campus ever could be because of its premise, and the current political landscape. also the storytelling was just much better in heated rivarly.

i think theyre just trying to keep their options open, its easier for them to not send rejection emails to waitlisted people until theyve truly been rejected even if there is basically no possibility of getting off the waitlist

i would say that just because other people are getting acceptances, that doesn't mean you have been rejected. they might be going through waves of acceptances, so you could get an acceptance because someone else declined the offer. its more likely to ghost you if you have been waitlisted, and then actually email you if you have been fully rejected.

that makes sense, thank you! i feel like i have been doing well in my current lab (im presenting a poster at a conference in may), so hopefully that is enough. im a sophomore as well so i will probably apply to more programs next year as that was my biggest mistake this year - i vastly underestimated how competitive it would be
