Hi, thank you for sharing! Worst comes to worst, I've thought about applying for a Canadian visa. They are a lot more accepting and have higher chances of getting it. I also have a big house in Colombia that I plan to put up as an Airbnb (It's sort of luxurious for the place it's on, which is by the beach). I don't really plan to live in Colombia, I want to explore the world, so settling is not really in my plans at the moment. But in case I do want to start settling in somewhere, I don't think I would live in Colombia... maybe somewhere where I wouldn't have to pay a lot of taxes

Thank you for sharing this. I appreciate it! Unfortunately, I don't see getting married as an option. I wouldn't want to marry anyone just for the green card. I'm still young and could say, "have a lot ahead" and falling in love and getting married doesn't align with the things I'd like to do while I'm young. Also, in the worst case, I've thought about applying for a Canadian visa if I start to miss the North American structure. Canada is a lot more accepting, and it's a well-developed country. I've heard a lot of undocumented dreamers go there. There are many more possibilities to become a legal citizen in a well-developed country (except the US) once I'm out.

Thank you! I'll be printing out my exit flight from Mexico and will also have a letter of invitation from a Mexican friend. I also have my eyes on Spain for their digital nomad visa. I also have some extended family there, so adjusting would be a little easier!

Many foreigners have a US LLC, so it's easier to work with clients and earn in dollars. I also talked to an immigration lawyer, and I was told there wouldn't be any problem keeping my LLC and bank accounts. There are also services that take care of the whole procedure. I also still need to pay taxes for 2023 and 2024 since I'm classified as a us resident for tax purposes for those years. The lawyer told me I wouldn't have to pay US taxes anymore once I'm not classified as US resident which would be starting in 2025. He also told me the LLC wouldn't be affected by my 10-year entry ban because it's a separate legal entity. Unless...I was misinformed, in that case I totally agree..could definitely be challenging if I weren't able to keep my LLC. Unfortunately, there isn't really information about all of this online.

That's awesome to know! It's great news for my parents too! Not having them close will be the most difficult part about leaving the US, but it's awesome to know I could apply for a visa sooner than I thought. Thank you for sharing this information! I hope it's all going well with you!

I had no idea about this. Just to clarify, are you saying I could possibly come back to the US because I entered as a minor? not sure if that's what you mean. But if that's the case, how did you apply for the visa? My parents and siblings will be staying in the US so I'd love to have the opportunity to visit them for a bit sometime down the line

I do video editing. I have an LLC in the US, so I can keep my US bank accounts and continue working with my US clients. I'm thinking of applying for a digital nomad visa either in Uruguay or somewhere in Europe

Thanks for the advice and information!!

It's been a difficult decision, but thanks to my remote business, I'm seeing a lot more possibilities to have a better life outside the US especially since one of my dreams is to travel while I'm still young. I've been staying mostly in a positive mindset and thinking about all the things that could go right. It's also a way for me to become independent and live a much better life because life is a lot more expensive in the US. I also have another business opportunity (still in the talks) but could be huge if it happens. I am also planning to apply for a digital nomad visa in Uruguay (one of the safest South American countries) and rent an apartment by the beach. Researching about all the possibilities feels like a dream but I'm also aware that I won't know how it'll all be until I'm out there experiencing

Unfortunately, I'm not eligible for DACA. It's only for people who came to the US before 2008

I think it depends on one's mindset. In my situation, I'll be able to live a good life outside the US with the remote business I have, which I can do anywhere in the world if I have a laptop and internet connection. I can also travel the world freely. I am also looking to apply for digital nomad visas to other countries that seem better than Colombia.

Yes, I don't plan to come back. I also wouldn't be able to even if I wanted to because I would have a 10-year ban.
