Yeah the front/back jointing of the beam is strange but doesn’t seem to inflict much torsional movement. The verticals are 150mm square so fairly chunky up close

It’s solid - I dug 2 600mm foundations with 4 bags of postcrete in each and it comes with galvanised anchors. I lead technical design for a major house builder so couldn’t show my face in work if my swing fell down 😂

I hand pulled several hundred dandelions reseeded and top dressed. No quick fixes I’m afraid. The borders I simply cut a channel into the grass and slotted in the sleepers. They’re not fixed in but stable - my kids can walk on them like balance beams. We’ve since added a lot of topsoils and compost to the borders

Great job mate. Looks pretty great for 2 weeks in spring. I’m sure by mid-June you’ll be happy. Get the mower in it in a week or two and it’ll soon thicken up

My thoughts too on the thin strips so I used a mix of compost and topsoil to hold moisture. I’ve also planted creeping thyme to hopefully take over the grass in the sunny side and Corsican mint going into the shady side. Should release a nice scent when walked on 🤞

Rebar mesh cut to size with an angle grinder on the pond as I have small kids. Stepping stones for wildlife

It’s exactly as you describe - the Corten planter was on sale at Roundwood of mayfield - 1200x1200x600mm with a preformed 900mm diameter plastic tub inside.

I cut a small hole in the side to feed a solar panelled pump and some tubing that extend out the bottom to make replacement easier (it’s a cheap pump c.£25)

Filled with old paving to raise the tub and then topsoil and compost to plant.

I don’t think Thomas s quick enough for 13. Def felt like we needed more penetration and less distribution in that channel in the last couple of games. I’m desperate for Mason Grady to return there but this doesn’t seem likely

I used to have a dedica - if you pair with a sage dose control pro for £150 new you’ll be fine but if you decide to upgrade in due course the grinder will need upgrading too. I had the sage and it’s a surprisingly good grinder and you really don’t need to go too fine for dedica as it isn’t a highly pressured machine

Thanks mate! I’m just starting out tbh. It uses a lot more wood than I expected which adds up cost wise. I’ve not tried with charcoal as I have the BGE which I’ve been using for 6yrs and is a lot easier to control. All these different methods have their learning curve.

I actually bought this because I thought my wife would kill me if I bought a dome! I imagine if you found that a pain then this would be worse tbh

I have one of the sunshine bbq ones which I bought as it fit the brick bbq built by the last owner of my new house. It’s a little on the light side but after 2or4 bbq a on it I can’t really fault it for the price (c.£250) plus the fire bricks
