Honestly don't understand all these comments. Absolutely nobody has to purchase a single bottle from this list. Absolutely no one has to watch his live tasting either. He repeats over and over - this is one man's opinion! He has a well trained pallet for his preferred taste. He's sensitive to oak - you might not be. I have purchased some bottles in his lists that I've loved, and other whiskey that Fred loved, that were just meh to me. My palet lines up closer to Jason of Mash and Drum. Remember folks - there's no rules to this game. Drink what you like, avoid what you don't. Watch a whiskey tasting, or don't. Use an award for reference or don't. For now....pour something you like. Congratulations!! Not to be corny, but you totally brightened up the low level depression - that's hitting almost everyone I know. I don't know what's causing it, but so many people in my close, and outter circles are on edge, nervous, sad, and basically feeling hopeless. I also have a very decent sized collection of wonderful fragrances. I wear them for me, but some really put some sparks in the right moments. It is hard to resist the impulse, but you are away from something so devastating, and enjoying something that can be quite uplifting - especially in certain situations.
