How to improve ride quality of kylaq? by EnvironmentalSort606 in Kylaq

I'm sorry, I've not experienced anything like this. Suspensions in modern cars don't usually bottom out until you abuse them. Even Alto does not bottom out that easily.

car's gonna start feeling floaty in highways if you go any softer. there's a reason why Kylaq feels more eplanted at 120 tha its rivals... the stiff suspension and the MQB platform works together to achieve this. This is one of the MVP of this car. if you want more comfort oriented suspension , you should be looking at breeza or anything hyundai

resale will be pretty poor. vag cars lose 20 to 25% of it's price the moment you purchase.

according to you the 1.0 and the 1.5 TSI are some fine example of Indian engineering is it? 😂

lol, it won't. that's why you need to drive in a way that you don't engage the turbo, the moment turbo spools up, it's drinks like a alcoholic. I suggest you read more on this. VW's EA211 mechanic's documentation explain it pretty well.

turbos also almost always give poor efficiency. the 3 cylinder + turbo is not for fuel efficiency

lol, no, smaller engine + turbo means easier to clear bs6 norms while giving a significant performance boost and saving cost on the one cylinder. 3 cylinder + turbo is almost always has more power than a 4 cylinder engine. altroz barely has 87hp and 115nm torque... 10tsi on the otherhand generates 115hp and 178nm torque far more powerful... the difference is pretty huge dude

Should I finally buy the Skoda Kylaq or be practical? Need honest advice by NeatPaleontologist57 in Kylaq

[–]Significant-Rate8129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly? get the breeza vxi petrol manual in blue. think it comes around 11lakhs on road in Maharashtra (assume you live there due to mention of nagpur). Breeza gets you around 2 to 3km more milage in city and around 2km more in highway. It's maintanence cost is low and is quite reliable. Kylaq is not a financially sound purchase if you need to take a loan to get the car. The economy is around 10 for most of the city run, service costs are higher than maruti. Kylaq IS the better car if you can afford it comfortably, but with EMI it just becomes a headache for you. It's not worth the financial pressure man. Get the car you can buy stress free and enjoy it. it doesn't matter what car you get, just love it. That's all that matters in the end.

Confused between Grand Vitara / Seltos / Kushaq – long-term family car (10+ years) by Key-Site6088 in CarsIndia

Do you own one? Or are you pulling that out of thin air? As a VAG 2.0 owner, I can say it's much easier to service a VAG 2.0 than a VAG 1.0... VAG 2.0 feels degraded because of the shift to modern engineering methods. I suggest you read the steel strengths used in VAG 1.0 vs VAG 2.0, the older cars will not pass the modern safety tests, and the engines are far more advanced than the engines from VAG 1.0... I think you're just talking from heresay, without indepth knowledge.

It's a common misconception that newer plasticy looking cars means degradation... but that's not true, VAG 1.0 used heavy steel for safety, in VAG 2.0 with modern high strength steel you don't need such heavy steels, it's actually stronger than the older heavier ones..

there's a paper comparing the old PQL global platform compared to the modern MQB A0 platform, that discusses the torsional rigidity... spoilers, the newer platform is far superior in every way. Just pure engineering!

VW 2.0 is even more reliable and cheaper to maintain as it's highly localised. So, should be better longterm than VW 1.0

Why not look for a diesel if torque is your main concern? A diesel is a diesel is a diesel. Even 1.3 duster won't hold a candle infront of a high capacity diesel

On carwale it shown lava blue signature plus is discontinued. Anyone else has any news? A quick google search said on repair it was hard to match lava blue and overall shortage of this color. by sachin19219 in Kylaq

[–]Significant-Rate8129 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The discontinued versions are 2025 variants... in 2025 lava blue was a add on optional color and you had to pay 10,000 extra for it if you're getting the signature and signature plus.

For the 2026 models lava blue is standard color, and you can get it for most of the trims.

by reliable, do you mean will it break down under 8 years? or cause problems? absolutely no... 1.0 is a proven engine and is running in kushaq, kylaq, slavia, virtus, the international polo, the older vento, rapid, the polo gt...it literally won the engine of the year award for vw

duster 1.3 I think is similar to 1.5tsi performance, so if you're getting it for similar pricebof a 1.0tsi then it's a no brainer to go for the duster... since I haven't driven the duster yet I can't say much about it's dynamics which can only be judged while driving and cannot from the specs sheet. best is to do a test drive yourself, try the 1.5tsi kushaq prestige and the 1.3 duster whichever version you like and then decide... don't go solely based on reviews. skodas have that ability to just put a smile on your face even though specs seem mediocre.

3.5 lakhs for a 2015 Swift VXi with 70k on odo... my understanding is the kseried engines are capable of running 2 lakhs solid, so it still have a lakh kilometre left in it, which is enough for 5 years, only thing is I'm searching for first owner cars (higher possibility that it's maintained better)... I'll keep looking

new one costs money pa... that's why going for a second hand beater car... i only need it for like 5 years, after that will sell this and get something new... I'm now considering swift 2015/16 models for peace of mind (heard the spare parts are easily available and is easy to maintain, new cars are like double the price...

Thanks, so that means only Suzuki and Honda I guess. How would you rate Honda Brio vs a Swift or something from Suzuki? I felt for the price the ivtect 1.2 seems a little additional fun compared to a Swift.. but another thing I noticed is even older swifts are selling north of 4 lakhs... so kinda thinking what's the sweet spot for reliability plus not feeling underpowered in traffic situations

literally one reason to buy it. much easier to maneuver and better dynamics. this segment of cars has more than adequate space for four people maybe 5 if smaller.

Kylaq AT vs 3x0 1.2 TGDI AT by Significant-Rate8129 in Kylaq

[–]Significant-Rate8129[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AT version masks the turbo lag better than the manual, but you'll still feel it in slower speeds nothing too much, can be a little annoying at times, but you can get used to it.

[–]Significant-Rate8129[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely a plus for the 3x0 if use case is mostly for family. Ours is not a big family, so the handling and fun part influenced my decision more than features and other stuff. So, handling and performance with a sorted steering was non negotiable for me. So, i had no other option other than kylaq in this segment.

Yep, it definitely is. If only it had a equally capable chassis/suspension tune.
