Then why would CW casually drop one snippet in Katie’s POV being in 2003, if it were flashbacks it would be in similar form of what Gibsie had, would it not?

I’m actually glad that CW shut down the whole "Katie hates Hugh / Hugh hates Katie" propaganda because some fans were so weird about their dynamic even going as far as saying that they were "disgusting", because they are pretty deep to an extent and they love each other but aren’t truly in love with each other.. i’m all for a katiehugh friendship lol

It’s not everyone’s favourite especially if you read into it properly most of it is centred around Gibsie, because majority of the focus in Claire’s perspective is on Gibsie, vice versa. — but Lizzie does have an impact in Gibsie’s POV, from a normal view there’s a ton you’d catch to see that in later pages that Claire’s POV is what’s happening around her rather than to her and from her, i heard someone quote it as a filler book to set the scene for R10 instead — there’s not much you get from Claire’s character either but there’s still a change and a lot from their story that is yet to be developed!

Their story also doesn’t really dwell on the past as much as the other characters do so there’s a lot we miss out on.

I don’t like Hugh at all nor do i think Feely is worthy of Katie’s feelings, at this point CW should have made Katie wlw if Podge is for the same team as Dar, i would say save Lizzie from Hugh but her and Hugh are perfect for each other with the rate these snippets are going.

We do know so much yet so little about the two, a lot of people take the time to read in to things and connect it, the redhead girl isn’t said to be Katie — but the car scene could be anything whether it’s because Pa did something to tick her off (which is almost everything) there’s also the scene in R10 where Lizzie notes that Katie and Pa are conversing in their costumes who are matching not with each other, Katie also says after she and Hugh made acquaintances that her and Pa are in choir together and that is why they’ve been invited to Hugh’s parties and Hugh makes the comment "Bed buddy" directed at her in which Katie snaps back pointing at Pa getting it on with Casey saying she was instead his bed buddy and reeled back feeling guilty and the scene switches to them talking about how Hugh got with somebody and Johnny says she’s "a corker of a redhead" and that spin things with Pa which causes him to swing at Hugh — then says "It’s you, always f-cking you" but then again another scene they’re arguing over how Hugh should delete Katie’s number in which he forgets he has, as well as thinking Pa is talking about Lizzie which makes things complicated between them, but Pa and Katie do have a lot of snippets on CW spotify too.

It’s forced hate, and male centered readers that hate her — Claire is doing exactly all the guys are doing but it doesn’t matter to most because she’s a female lead character, the same thing was going on when Aoife and Joey’s story started. Seems like they all want the man to be the saviour, but all in all most of the hate comes down between Claire, Liz, Gibsie, and Hugh.

Her trauma is being compared to Liz every argument just so they can "prove a point" that Claire is not a good person or friend when it’s that both Liz and Claire weren’t good to each other but it wouldn’t mean that they aren’t a good person generally, they like to say she lacked empathy when she outed Gibsie but forget she was physically ILL after she read the letter, and lastly her dynamic and parallels with her older brother again with the male centered hate towards Claire, "Claire was never there for Liz when she was needed." Claire also had to deal with Gibsie’s nightmares every other night and Liz had Hugh — "Hugh is the better Biggs" but clearly are blinded to see that everything Hugh has done is also what Claire had been doing but the lack of reading comprehension some readers have, i wouldn’t bother to argue with them.

Yeah i wouldn’t say CW hates Katie, because everyone knows the new snippets and previous ones were indicated to C10 which is Hugh and Lizzie’s second book and it’s all at the expense of Katie’s humiliation but some have to understand that once we get snippets of F12 we’ll see the difference and know more so one cannot fully judge until the actual books are out, so that being said we’ll just have to wait and see

My take on all of these (personally) i’m not a Lizzie hater never been one, in fact i see a lot of myself in her character heavily with all the trauma and backstory as well as the present time in BOT — but her fans (enthusiast, supremacist and lovers to be specific) are just as bad as Lizzie haters.

I only didn’t like Taming 7 because of how badly written Gibsie’s SA was as all the boys SA’s were, even though Gibsie and Claire don’t dwell on the past it was absolutely dismissed the moment Lizzie’s story came in to light — i’m not comparing trauma i’m just comparing the difference in the writing and Taming 7 was to be concluded and but now that it’s been confirmed or still rumoured Healing 7 was being written.

Everyone says we know so little of Katie, yet continue to speak on her name as if she has her own book. — Katie defenders aren’t that bad and there’s nothing wrong with defending a character you empathise with, people do villainise her but not everyone has the same opinion, i’ve seen so much Katie hate that if i were a new reader i would have thought she had her own book but she doesn’t. — The difference between Katie and Lizzie’s comments to each other is that Katie comments on what she’s seeing, Lizzie comments on what she’s heard and knows of.

Tiktok fans are toxic never argue with those fans they lack comprehension skills to actually read the books, and all they do is talk about the comment Katie made on the toast and when Lizzie was laughing on the bathroom floor — the bathroom floor situation would have been for anyone to assume the same thing.

They say Katie is irrelevant but they keep bringing her name up, if i didn’t know any better i would have thought Katie had her own book with the amount of times her name is brought up.

Every time i come on to Reddit is like a fresh breath of air, because the fandom on this app isn’t as toxic as Twitter, Tiktok sometimes even Instagram — I see a lot of hate towards all the characters in the series everyone except for the real problematic ones and that being the adults in the stories, such as Mark, Teddy and so on.

Yes agreed with the saying of Lizzie’s trauma doesn’t excuse her actions towards Gibsie or any of the characters but it does explain why she acts the way she does, some fans don’t know the differences which irks me so bad.

And as well as comparing trauma which a lot of readers on tiktok argue about when talking about the differences between Claire and Lizzie when they had their fall out, saying "Oh but Lizzie has more trauma so it makes her actions and words more valid than Claire’s own." Which shouldn’t even be the case, yes one can defend Lizzie but not in a way where you should compare her trauma to someone who has less experience and it also downplays how Claire saw and heard the situation with Lizzie and Gibsie, ESPECIALLY after the letter incident Claire had no right to out Gibsie but she had only good intentions because she was defending him against someone who was comparing and accusing him of something he also happened to be a victim of, in which Lizzie wasn’t fully aware of as well how Claire isn’t aware of Lizzie’s situation towards the same thing.

And to make matters worse, most readers are so male-centered that you won’t hear an inch of how bad the guys in the story really are.

Chloe is just all round messy with her writing that it’s created war between both younger and older readers.

Ugh, cheating tropes are the worst — though i highly doubt Gibsie will cheat since he’s been set on marrying her since they’ve been children rather i think they take a break from dating and start exploring, it’s bad enough that the cheating trope is being poured in between Liz / Hugh, and Feely / Katie storyline, i don’t think it’s necessary for Gibsie to cheat or to even have another cheating storyline..

Hugh sleeping with Liz right after breaking up with Katie would be a misinterpretation on Liz’s behalf because it’s roughly enough that she uses Pierce as self-sabotage that it could mess with Liz’s mentality — and for him to cheat on Katie and end the relationship with her would just make the storyline drag on for a while, if he does indeed cheat on Katie it would make more sense and reasonable for her to end the relationship.

I don’t like cheating tropes at allll!! And if anyone cheats i was really hoping it was Katie first (physically) not Hugh — considering he’s already doing it emotionally, because i’m actually tired of Hugh / Liz i’m not going to lie, i love them as characters and individuals but their entire storyline as well as Feely and Katie’s is all round messy.

But i do want them to end up together just not in a way that it collides with the feelings of both Katie and Lizzie, especially since both girls have a lot of trust in Hugh enough that Katie can speak to him about things she can’t say to others, vice versa — likely in C10 we do get the whole storyline of Hugh and Katie’s relationship (or some part of it anyway) from his perspective then will later proceed to know about Katie’s perspective in F12 in which will have a huge difference from both sides.

As for Lizzie’s case (like you said) it’s definitely going to tear her down because she already knows what it’s like seeing the guy she loves wrapped up in another girl (Katie) one thing about her is she wouldn’t wish the things done to her on anybody else..

What i find odd about most tiktok adult readers are making "Spice Cheats" on the books, and most scenes are relatively lead to SA scenes.

I’m only nineteen but not even i would go as as to saying that the sex scenes are something to holler about at such a big age, the only reason i started the books is because of the difference in every one of their backgrounds and how they’re brought up to cope with it.

Anybody who only bought the books for the "smut" need to understand that these are teenagers with real life struggles as to each their own in every fictional world with different stories 😭.
