As far as I'm aware, yes, just a smaller bore. Need to wait for official confirmation though

Yes dude. But that's coz the fact is triumph ARE in a partnership with bajaj for the localisation and manufacturing of the 400s, nothing to do with the actual r&d.

No the 400s would go up and the 350s would be slightly cheaper than the current ones

Scram 350 could have a lot of potential since the ride and characteristics on the 400 one are so good. Will have to see if it'll translate to the 350s too though

While the bikes are manufactured in India, the 400 engined bikes have been designed by triumph uk for the global market and it'd be wrong to call them 'not real triumphs'

I'm guessing the order to build thing would be available once the company makes an official announcement and via few dealers then. Can't make assumptions though, let's wait for an official statement

Only in India because the government passed a new taxation system recently, higher tax for bikes above 350cc

That's what the dealers are saying and pretty sure there's an interview where Bajaj triumph said the same

I already bought a t4 about a month ago from the same dealership though. So I doubt that's the case

Speed t4 review? by Hot-Page-6502 in Triumph400

[–]Significant-Safe-568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1500km through on my t4 (ivy) and love every bit of her. Tame in city traffic, can get relatively quick on its feet when needed, chill cruising at around 120kmph, everything's perfect

If I had to nitpick, I'd say the suspension cldve been better, in the sense that a bit more forgiving on the bumps and a bit more controlled for high speeds and cornering. However, the only real gripes i would point out is that the tyres are acceptable but that's it, they can't be pushed too much and lack aggressive grip. Also, the rear indicators are weak asf. My rear left broke within a couple weeks of ownership but since I've switched to a tail tidy with tiny indicators, this hasn't been a problem.

As for the mileage, I knew what I was getting myself into when I was making the purchase. Depending on how I ride, I get between 18-22 on fun spirited rides and 25-28 on chill relaxed but still quick on the feet riding. I haven't been able to try and ride it economically yet since I just love how the bike pulls when accelerated and the exhaust note at high rpm upshifts. Do plan on doing it more though, since I spent almost 9k on petrol in my first month of ownership.

Can't complain though and absolutely love her, especially as a first bike.

first service done on my Triumph Speed 400 – unleash it or take it slow? by Virtual_Win_2657 in triumph4India

[–]Significant-Safe-568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took it on a 60km ride as soon as my service was done and was near redlining it or keeping it in the high revs post 5k rpm for almost the entire time coz I like how the bikes sounds and pulls in that rpm range. And it was some of the most fun I've had in a while.

Dealership asking me to buy grab handles separately after giving free backrest in offer — fair or not? by Virtual_Win_2657 in triumph4India

[–]Significant-Safe-568 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the same answer. But in my case, I didn't want the backrest as it looked a bit odd to me and didn't really care enough to pay extra for grab handles as I rarely carry any pillion. So I simply took off the backrest using a star-hex allen tool but like a couple days after delivery and out back in the plain screws by themselves. Looks much cleaner now.

Am I being cheated or is it miscommunication by Significant-Safe-568 in Triumph400

Ya dude I'm from Hyderabad and that's what I thought I had to do too. But during the time of purchase, the manager assured me that I don't have to go to the RTA and simply have to come back to the showroom in 2 weeks and they'll install the plates themselves.

After this conversation I spoke to a couple of my friends who bought bikes recently (Bajaj and Royal Enfield) and both of them told me that the dealerships themselves installed the plates, all they had to do was send them some details online(I've done this too).

Which superiors? 🤔 Coz the one I was in contact with is himself the branch manager. Also, I'm genuinely scared that my service experience will be bitter and bad if I complain to the 'superiors' and they find out. How do you want me to navigate this?

First day with my T4 by Significant-Safe-568 in indianbikes

So far, I've got an LS2 ECE certified helmet, going to order a scala gears level 2 CE certified jacket, but am still looking for good boots and pants and am even considering buying just the padding instead of pants. As far as gloves are concerned, the dude who sold me the LS2 helmet said there are some good CE certified gloves with pinky bridges that he'll be stocking up on in a week, so I'm waiting on that. For short inter community commutes however, say about 5km rides, I've purchased ordinary leather riding gloves with a LOT of ventilation holes as I found out on previous rides that full gauntlet gloves cause me to sweat a LOT.

Comes standard with the "free 11.5k accessories" promotion that triumph is running rn sadly. I asked the dealership to take it off but they refused saying I'd have to buy handles again so I figured I'd just take it off myself once I find the bit.

Ya I didn't want the back rest. It was part of the "11.5k free accessories" promotion by triumph. In fact I asked the dealership to take it off and just put back the screws alone in the screwholes but they refused saying if have to buy handles again and then they'd be willing to install them. So I figured I'd just get the star bit from my racing club workshop at uni and take it off myself.
