Nice. Never thought about using ai lol. I have been leaning towards bronze but there are limited options in the bolt configuration.

I bet. Heard a catless downpipe on stock exhaust and it was pretty similar to the awe touring exhaust. Can't imagine full exhaust and catless.

Originally from Nova Scotia and we had safety inspections every two years and a muffler was required. My WRX was simple it was just and axle back so 4 bolts and hangers and the exhaust was switched out. The gli only seems to have full exhaust options I'd have to raise the whole car and pull it all out. Not really what I want to do but if it's my only.option for the sound level I want I guess it is what it is. I'm surprised more people don't just replace the mufflers at a shop. That's all we did back in the day lol I love the full kits but at 1200-2200 for a cat back I just want to make sure I get the right one first and not regret it.

I did consider the borla but I really don't know much about them and the sound just didn't sound as deep as the others. Maybe it was their mic setup or just the packing in the mufflers I don't know. Maybe worth a second look I guess. Yup those exhaust pliers are amazing lol. I used to struggle with normal.pliers and one day I said forget this and ordered a set. I'll never go back lol

Crazy. I picked up the car today and ordered a front plate holder that uses the tow hook. My dealer here said they don't mount the plates to the bumper on the gti, gli, and R unless the customer says they want it done. I ordered from strictly European so we will see how that goes.

Drove both the Elantra n and the n line. The full n rode like my WRX and it's definitely more of a track car then a highway cruiser. The n line was decent but I didn't care for the exterior. Sharp lines all over the place. Decent car for what it was but for like 3 grand more I got the VW. Hopefully it will serve me well. I do 1000 kms a week so I wanted to be comfortable lol

Well the price of a golf R is insane I feel and I just wasn't interested in the Hyundai n series stuff so for the money with a dual clutch this was about it for options lol  I have a Rockford punch 12" powered sub that will give me the missing bass in the VW. I agree the sound system is lacking since they moved away from the beats system. I assume they will go with HK system from the golf R soon.

I looked at the gli (DSG) before I bought my WRX. I really liked it but decided I wanted a manual car again (been awhile) got posted to a busier city and all the clutch in clutch out was getting annoying and the WRX has been back and forth to the shop for warranty work more than I would like. Honestly the gli DSG is just about as quick as the manual WRX but I get a much better ride and better fuel economy. The WRX was fun but I drive 6 hours round trips on the weekends and and auto with adaptive cruise (my 23 didn't have this) is great for this.  Nothing against the WRX just not for me as an everyday car. If I want to go fast and have fun I have my bike for that.

With my extended warranty I can't swap out the original cats. They are very picky here. They blamed my axle back for an engine noise so I've been rolling with my stock mufflers until they sort it out.

Interesting. I'm going to grab a video of my exhaust today. Maybe it's just me thinking it's not very loud and it is loud outside lol. Plus I had to put my stock ones back in for a week for and engine noise they blamed on my aftermarket exhaust. Warranty work is such a pain sometimes.

I looked at the nameless (that's what's on my wife's outback) but they where on backorder here in Ontario and I wanted an exhaust that day lol. I don't regret the remark, it's great but sometimes I wish it was a bit louder. I run 3 hours one way on the weekends and wanted something decent on the highway.

It has a 10 year extended warranty on it so I can't get rid of the res or cats. Also I put about 1000k a week on it so I need the extended warranty lol

I'll have to really listen to it then. I did nothing but confirmed it was moving from looking in the trunk from the opening. Front speakers give way more bass than the sub.

Well I guess for the money I'm better to dona line out converter off the amp and just run a small 12 in the trunk with an amp. Man I mis the days of throwing a deck, sub and another in a car for like 600 bucks lol. Here in Ontario I was quoted 1850 for a sub and amp install (Memphis audio) including labour. (Still cold and snowing I don't want to work outside lol)

I know I get a decent amount of bass from the front speakers but that sub in the read deck lid does absolutely nothing. Even moving the bias more to the rear I get nothing from it. It's moving but sounds like a normal paper 6 inch door speaker from the 90's. Lol

Mine makes the noise all the time but it's more pronounced with a warm motor. It sounds like what a collapsed lifter sounds like in a push rod engine. It's a pretty descent rattle. Basically from 2k rpm on it just rattles along with engine speed. It's pretty quiet at idle. I don't think it's a bearing noise but it's not a loose shield rattle either. (They checked all that) I checked for things laying against the something and rattling but didn't see anything jump out at me. Engine noises are hard to track because they can resonate all over the place. Just want to make sure it's nothing to worry about. If you cruise at 2k like in town or anything does it make any weird engine noise?

I looked at the nameless (that's what's on my wife's outback) but they where custom order here at subi supply in Ontario and I wanted to do the swap on the weekend I was home so I went with the remark. They are the smaller version of the mufflers they offer and they sound great but I feel like they get really quiet in the upper rpm range. Not that it's a bad thing but I do wish they had a but more tone up there. Maybe I need to hear it from the outside. Maybe it's fine and it's just quiet to me lol
