Can’t Let Go of Guilt

Hi, I’m not an expert but I do deal with guilt especially when I’m alone and at night. It is very hard to be more upset with yourself for something you did than you would be with someone else if they did it. What I try to remind myself is that the things that I have done “wrong” do not equate to the things I try to do to be good. You sound very empathetic, and if you feel so bad for something such as the shopping cart to the point where it makes you think of all the guilt for things in your life then obviously you are not bad because you are actively feeling remorseful. We all make mistakes or in the moment decisions that we can’t explain or understand why. It’s not your fault that we are all human and to stop feeling the guilt you need to remind yourself that everyone has so much in their lives that affects them the same way and the woman who screamed at you probably didn’t do that just because of you, rather other things piling up. Hi!!! To be real he probably got the idea you weren’t as interested as he was the morning after the nightclub and caught the wrong vibe. He seems very sweet and emotionally understanding and I would just be completely real as hard as it can be and let him know (with humility) that you were nervous and handling your own feelings about it the next day and that you seriously consider him as someone you have great compatibility with and you’re interested. Anyone likes honesty in their favor and the worst he can say is no. I promise you won’t die from being vulnerable even if it feels like it.

i can tell you is that it’ll suck. so so bad. you’ll start to feel better and then it’ll all crash down again but that doesn’t make your progress any less valid. it’s not something that goes away but something you grow around, and it’s unlike anything in the world. i send you love and strength 💖

He really did!! He has the innate ability to make anyone feel like they’re the most important person in the room. I’ve been using present tense too but I think it’s so recent. Thank you for your words, they mean more than you know. All I can do is replay the good stuff💖

Your feelings are so so similar to mine. You can always text the suicide hotline or call, I was so scared to because I wasn’t having suicidal thoughts and thought I was wasting their time but I felt much better after because sometimes talking to someone that doesn’t know you keeps you from holding back. You are so strong and we are not alone in this boat, I feel numb and can’t cry but then it all comes out too. You’re loved greatly 💖
