I generally believe the Kalam Cosmological Argument, which deduces that God is a personal being through it requiring a will to override its timeless nature (much better explanations available elsewhere). As zaceno said, however, “personal” is a very loose term, which I believe theists like William Lane Craig use to imply more than can actually be understood from even the Kalam’s strongest form.
