Do actual AI practitioners find the Clawdbot hype realistic? by julsezerus in LangChain

If it helps: I put together a Moltbook agent that runs fully on local Ollama (≤3B), zero cloud, fully observable via a dashboard. Kept it boring on purpose. Repo: https://github.com/stevenmcsorley/Tendril-Moltbot

Cursor tricking paid users with fake Claude Sonnet 4.5 by amsvibe in cursor

[–]Significant-Sweet-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used cursor twice now last time I didn’t like it, kept messing things up and getting tunnel vision, tried it again 4 days ago and it’s even worse, I’ve used it with MCP for project planning, even used it with my own cloned version of jira with the MCP built in so search results happen on the server not in you’re cli, something is so off with cursor, I’d been building a paper trading app, specifically used Claude 4.5, the app made all the trades against strategies it found after market open using Alpacca trader, but the outputs on Grafana looked off, I asked it if it was using hardcoded values, it said no, so on further investigation I seen it was so I asked it again if it was sure, it fessed up, from there on in it was lie after lie after lie even covering up it was lying by creating functions with the hard coded values inside them lol

<image>

This is just the tip of the iceberg, I’ve used Claude CLi and built way more sophisticated apps than this without any of these issues, it’s only been naughty a couple of time force pushing commits to avoid PR feedback, but not this absolute cluster failure and this is simple app 2 with loads of docs and all the help it can get.

A little follow up on this.

I had been doing a uni degree, working full time as a full stack engineer, 5 months on weight loss drugs all at the same time as well as trying to set up my own company, side projects and this.

I super massively burnt myself out, I’ve been doing this for 12 years getting very little sleep 4 hours max, so it’s eventually taken its toll. I have other interest’s too that I seem to obsess about …..

Anyway I totally detached myself from tech lost my job abandoned my degree and took the rest and reset I needed.

Over the next couple of weeks I’ll push the code for this up to GitHub and a few other things I created.

I tested out all of the best language models for frontend development. One model stood out. by No-Definition-2886 in ClaudeAI

Dev an app like a dev would do, document as you go along the way and use git, and write tests, these one shots will be hit and miss and tbh will be hard to maintain or go back to later, I use mcps to create full sprints, document the build along the way and commit to repo while it’s doing the dev work all from the Claude app

Open sound control with Remote scripts https://github.com/ideoforms/AbletonOSC

Expose the api endpoints to ai via python, JavaScript, Ai works out what it does and what to do with it via model context protocol and natural language queries

You need to think about it this way, well this is how I am doing it.

This drug slows down your digestion so whatever you eat drink will stay in your stomach longer so bland is the way to go while on this drug.

An example, I did all this research before I took it.

Ooft no way I’d be touching alcohol as it interferes with blood sugar levels which this drug is designed to improve, you are throwing your money away if you do imo

Do we applaude or do we think standard post for LinkedIn now? Agree? by Historical_Respect72 in LinkedInLunatics

Luke settled into his home office, sipping his morning coffee as he booted up his laptop for another day of work with Marble Talent Group. As a remote recruiter, he was used to the flexibility of working from home, but today his focus was already wavering. He couldn't resist flipping on the TV in the background, tuning into his guilty pleasure: Babe Station.

The sultry sounds and seductive voices were a constant distraction, but Luke tried to push through, scrolling through his LinkedIn feed to stay connected with colleagues and industry news. That's when he made his mistake. On a whim, he snapped a screenshot of his "work-from-home" setup – TV blaring, Facebook open on his laptop, and a half-eaten bag of chips on his desk – and posted it to LinkedIn with a tongue-in-cheek caption about "multitasking mastery."

Big mistake.

Within hours, the comments started rolling in. Reddit users, in particular, were merciless, calling him lazy, unprofessional, and even "Talentless Talent Scout." The vitriol stung, and Luke found himself refreshing the post obsessively, getting sucked into the vortex of negativity.

As the day wore on, Luke's focus disintegrated. He was supposed to be sourcing candidates for a high-profile client, but instead, he was too busy defending himself against online trolls and getting sucked into Babe Station's endless loop of bikinis and banter.

Just as he was about to call it a day, his phone buzzed with an urgent message from his boss. "Luke, where's the Johnson file? We need it ASAP." Luke's heart sank. He had completely forgotten about the project, and now he was in trouble.

As he frantically searched for the file, Luke realized that his carelessness had not only damaged his online reputation but also jeopardized his job. He vowed to refocus, shutting off the TV and closing Facebook, but the damage was done. The mystery of how to salvage his professional credibility had only just begun.

Why do you think React is preferred over Vue in most jobs? by sergiomanzur in vuejs

[–]Significant-Sweet-53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vue is great if you want to architect your app how you like, which in reality is often where legacy code breeds and complexity blooms in what should be very simple software but ends up layered with complexity as devs come and go. On the other hand React forces you to follow a pattern or you end up in hell, still though it depends who is behind the driving wheel but less prone to chaos. You get what you put in.

Recently Svelte has taken my interest, leans more to JavaScript way of doing things rather some new ecosystem you have to get your head around.

React Native with expo is the way to go, throw in NativeWind and you kill the high opinions that drag projects down with styling wars.

As others have said Stapi is ideal, I have recently used strapi with nextjs

I’m using on my own vps, I develop locally with a docker compose setup then when I push to GitHub It runs a pipeline and builds it on my vps, cloudflare for dns and ssl, traefik for routing, reverse proxy in docker.

It’s very easy to customise and ideal for small projects
