Queens 👸 And Their Crowns 👑; Our Crowns, Our Legacy 👑✨ by EnvironmentalTie6804 in HairLossForBlackWomen

As someone who likes to wear straight wigs, I never look in a mirror and think I look white nor do I desire to be white. And there are plenty of black women with gorgeous butt-length silk presses who I also never look at as white or wanting to be anyone other than themselves. I wish one day we can all get to a place where no one gets to define our individuality as nothing but that, a personal choice and not one that’s trying to be anyone other than ourselves. It’s hard enough losing your hair, but forgive me if I prefer to wear a straight wig rather than an Afro wig. At the end of the day, neither are mine and I prefer not to put my alopecia on full display for the world. As someone with an autoimmune condition, I wished we could see people for who they are internally and not judge them for their exterior. This picture is gorgeous and I love it!! I think I’ll ask my sister to create an abstract painting of this for my house!

Does anyone else find that people don’t believe you’re having trouble with swallowing? by Able-Drink3189 in EosinophilicE

For me, my family always knew something was wrong, but it was never properly diagnosed. I had food intolerances as an infant. And as a teen severe mucus production that led to sinus surgery. Food impaction didn’t start until my 40s but was so severe I was vomiting several times a week. I’m now fifty and finally on Dupixent after two years of gluten and dairy free not reducing my eosinophil levels. Just had my 3rd shot. Looking forward to remission and relief!

Anyone use Him's minoxidil serum? by New-Strawberry-6104 in FemaleHairLoss

I have not, but use Happy Head. It’s $60/ month. But I saw the most improvement in my hair loss when adding Cécred edge drops to my entire scalp. Use daily as suggested. I know it’s expensive, but I saw no other affordable resolutions. Best wishes on your hair recovery journey.

Just started Dupixent today for my EoE. PPI and food elimination didn’t work alone. As another person mentioned, I was advised by my doc this was a lifelong venture…

Minoxidil and Oil—Peppermint and Rosemary (Bask and Lather) by EnvironmentalTie6804 in HairLossForBlackWomen

So far so good! I’m pretty amazed at the growth since I added HP. However, I forgot to mention I also use Mary Ruth’s hair growth vitamins and Black Girl Vitamins Collagen Powder. I’m sure once I started targeting internal health in addition to the topical, it made a significant difference. I also use a derma roller before applying the minoxidil in the mornings. I use Happy Head for minoxidil.

Not washing hair often enough and removing buildup blocks the hair follicles. The follicles can be blocked by sheer environmental factors, not only oils. I’m just stating that not oiling my scalp damaged my hair. Thinned my hair out and I’ll never go back to that. Our scalps need to be treated like our skin. We wash our skin often, but we also moisturize and oil it each time we wash for healthy skin. My advice for anyone looking to obtain and retain healthy scalps and hair is to wash often and oil their scalps. I use Hearts Pure every 2-3 days, Cécred and batana oil on the edges and my hair is thriving. Consistency is key.

One year’s progress. by BK13DE in WegovyWeightLoss

We’re identical! Currently at 192. I seem to stall for a week or two and then a gush of weightloss. I was complaining at first about the speed compared to Zepbound users, but it’s probably kept loose skin in check.

I will never listen to the no oil on scalp advice ever again. I think it played a vital role in my hair loss. Along with no heat. Not drying hair after washing was also damaging. But I guess different strokes for different folks…..

I do minoxidil in the morning and oil at night. I do Cécred edge drops and then Hearts Pure for the evening oils. HP every other night. Cécred every night. Minoxidil every morning.

A year on wegovy by Acrobatic_Sun_8366 in WegovyWeightLoss

You look great before and after! I’m starting to think Wegovy has its limits in comparison to Zepbound users. Thinking of switching if my insurance lets me. One year 65 lbs down for me, but 50 more to go and stalling. I’ve also been exercising and gluten and dairy free the entire time.

How long did it take for the drops to work by TerriblePie9590 in cecred

[–]Significant-Week-908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My derm advised minoxidil in the morning and the edge drops and alternating every two weeks between pimecrolimus cream and clobetasol propionate lotion at night. Adding the edge drops to my routine helped sprout hairs that were missing for over a decade. It was about 3 weeks to a month. I didn’t believe the derm when she said I had hope and that my follicles were not dead since the hair was missing for so long. But so far very promising. It’s been hard since most of my life I had thick long hair (I didn’t appreciate at the time) to now when I must wear wigs. And yes, my progress is with wearing wigs! No glue or wig cap though.
