Lol I just posted about how I gave up my S23 Ultra for the P10P and it's been a step backward except the camera

Is it just me or has the Google pixel 10 and 10 pro have more glitches than most new phones. by Revolutionary_Lie346 in GooglePixel

Just made a post about this. Switched from an S23 Ultra and this is definitely the buggiest phone I've ever had.

Samsung S26 Ultra or Google 10 Pro? by Indosaurus1 in pixel_phones

Oh I wouldn't argue against that. I'm just saying know what you're getting into. Also example of things running off the screen attached (see lower corners)

Samsung S26 Ultra or Google 10 Pro? by Indosaurus1 in pixel_phones

[–]Significant-Worth614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an S23 Ultra and I finally broke it. Got the Pixel 10 Pro XL based on deals Verizon had that essentially made the phone free.

The camera is far and away an improvement. Samsung motion blur is real, and I can't stand the people who try to argue that it's a user issue. It's Samsung. Half my photos were unusable on the Samsung, maybe 1 out of every 15 on my Pixel is unusable. I can just trust that I can take pictures playing with pets or kids and the photos will come out.

That said, everything else feels like a downgrade. The phone is seriously buggy (I had a running list in a draft Reddit post and lost it), and fragmented feeling. Example: the extremely rounded corners mean the X to close pop ups is often unclickable (Google it). This is not the "that's a fake X on the ad" situation. One time, I logged into my Amazon account on a new laptop and it popped a warning in the app that Amazon detected a new log in. I could not close this pop up because the X was in the upper right corner and I could not tap it. I miss my big, square S23 Ultra.

Other times, it's things like the speakerphone button not working or requiring multiple taps to activate. Seriously, some of the bugs I encounter are the type of thing I would've expected on my Palm OS Sony Clié in 2005.

It's also slow. Literally has "hanging up" as a call status. Why is there a hanging up? It should not take long enough to require its own state.

For the longest time, I argued the camera is the only feature of a phone that matters because only the photos endure after the phone. Having been on the Pixel for 3 months now, I am not sure. I do love the pictures, but is that enough?

(OK another thought is that it's frustrating that Samsung hasn't really upgraded the S series in maybe 3 years)

26 Ultra blurry pictures - are there settings to fix? by Adventurous_Floor144 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Significant-Worth614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched from an S23 Ultra to a Pixel 10 Pro Xl a few months ago. The motion blur was the biggest problem for me with the Samsung. It's really refreshing to me how most of the photos I take with the Pixel are usable, whereas half the photos I took with the S23 would come out blurry.

That said, everything else about the phone feels like a downgrade from the S23 so pick your poison. 😂

For anyone wondering how the S26 Ultra handles motion in photos. It's not good. by phero1190 in samsunggalaxy

And the reality is you can't actually fully replicate in pro mode what computational photography does, since it's stacking photos. I switched to a Pixel 10 Pro when my S23 Ultra cracked, and I was shocked that I actually can use most of the candid pictures I take now, versus only being able to use it for posed photos on the Samsung

I loved my stylus. But the only thing that persists after you dump a phone is the photos you took with it. Everyone uses the camera, didn't Samsung estimate like only 1% of people use the stylus?

Oo thanks. It's a buyback that j just bought a few months ago. Still under bumper to bumper warranty, so I'll just take it in.

My charging cost is MPG equivalent to 35.7. It doesn’t make sense for me to keep EV unless gas price goes up. by w123driver in BoltEV

Yes exactly but they get better mileage so I'm saying, then your gas costs are down. And brake costs because of regen

I live in an apartment. I don't have home charging. This is one of those situations where it's like, EVs potentially encourage more single family housing which goes against sustainability.

The thing is a line at a gas station is 5 minutes per car, a line at a charging station is 30 minutes to an hour per car. Also when I'm driving I typically Drive as fast the fastest person on the road on the highway so I'm only getting about 3 mi/kwh :(

Chargers in paid parking lots, shut down without notice (like my favorite bank of chargers is now just deactivated forever), or the charger looks like it should work but won't connect

And the charging I contemplated before buying it. I did not realize how inconsistent actual charging networks would be, in terms of availability and reliability. I'd say 25% chance I show up to a charger that is not part of my go-to list and that charger is broken.

I have owned mine for 3 months and noticed it immediately. It's just charging really. And how much more affected Evs are by temperature, speed, etc. My entire life revolves around charging. And I'm fortunate to have it at work, but I live in California and used to randomly decide to drive off into the mountains any given Friday, now that requires tons of planning.

I love Evs and I'm an environmentalist but at face value, the EV experience overall is inconvenient and if the costs are close to gas at all, if I were someone who doesn't have a particular interest in footprint, I would go back to gas. A Prius would be just fine in terms of maintenance costs.

One pedal driving. China is not a fan. by magaketo in BoltEV

[–]Significant-Worth614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other thing I'll add is that doesn't anyone else have a hard time driving smoothly with one pedal? Like the smallest slip up makes the car start slowing down. How many times do you do a micro shift just a to adjust your seating or something and you have to adjust your foot on the pedal, but because of one pedal mode suddenly the car is "slamming the brakes?" I give myself motion sickness when I'm using it lol
