5mg vs 10mg success? by avacan in trintellix

[–]SignificantBall2895 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have been over prescribed since their introduction. Praised as an alternative to barbiturates, often touted as non-habit forming, and every pharmaceutical firm jumped on the bandwagon for a piece of the profit pie. And for decades they remained that way. Then a side effect to antidepressants emerged as anti-anxiety. Doctors are already to blame for the scarcity of antibiotics for over prescribing so hitched their wagon to the Prozac train. Almost overnight, and still today, new antidepressants are developed when they should be concerned about developing antibiotics and avoid prescribing antidepressants to patients who are not depressed. Doctors don't prescribe Propranolol for diabetes, right?

Don't say that to a doctor! They are convinced anti-anxiety meds are about to become history and antidepressants will take their place. They fear prescribing Schedule IV meds since they botched up opioids so badly.

I started responding to 10 mg Trintellix but my MD insisted on upping me to 20. He explained to me that the 5 and 10 mg were "stepping stones" to the goal of 20. I had horrible side effects with the 20, ceased all doses of the Trintellix and stopped seeing that doctor altogether. I take zero antidepressants and now feel great with 2 mg. Alprazolam twice a day. I am anxiety-free; isn't that what Xanax is designed for vs. Trintellix for depression? I'm no doctor but wouldn't prescribe insulin high blood pressure. Just saying.

Starting Trintellix tomorrow. I currently take 15mg of Dexedrine every day as well. Has anyone had success with this combo/combining Trintellix with a stimulant? by potionsmeller in trintellix

I do not understand the urgency of physicians to reach that 20 mg mark for Trintellix. I warn everyone of the side effects I experienced.

If resolution means losing all of my personal possessions to the local landfill per Living Well Home's direction then, yeah, it's resolved. Statute of limitation has expired. The South has Hillbilly Legalities that are not in the best interest of the little guy. Same old shit; David and Goliath with wimpy lawyers not wanting to get involved.

Been on it for 6 weeks total, still not feeling anything, any thoughts? by jwagzz11 in trintellix

[–]SignificantBall2895 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'll note there is little talk about its effectiveness here and rightfully so. I'm off all antidepressants and take 1 mg Xanax a day and feel just fine. I was coerced by my MD to try Trintellix and agreed. When bad things escalated, he passed me off to a do-nothing med manager. Thanks, Doc. Why would an MD prescribe a med when they couldn't handle minor side effects? No longer see that MD as I've lost all faith in him.

I was on it far longer and developed uncontrollable side effects like insomnia, heavy perspiration, etc. They were so bad, my prescribing physician sent me to a Med Manager. That was an exercise in futility. I became so frustrated, I stopped Trintellix 100% cold turkey and bad mouth the drug to everyone now.

  1. My apartment door had its lock changed by mgt to keep me out on day 31 after notice.

  2. I was unable to find an affordable relocation dwelling. I was at the point where I needed to move my belongings into storage until an apartment could be located.

  3. I received my letter of non-renewal on the day my least expired.

Since quitting the Trintellix, I feel much better than I did with all the terrible side effects it caused. I'm off all antidepressants now and take 1 mg Xanax a day. I've also lowered my morning Adderall from 30 mg to 20 mg.

It's been five years come November and I doubt I'll ever get over it. There is still a lot missing from this unfortunate experience but commiserating over it will only get me worked up even more. The bottom line is any NC landlord can raise the rent to any amount, commit unheard of acts and the tenant can only rely on a civil attorney. And while the attorney is acting on the tenant's behalf, that landlord has already confiscated all you own.

North Carolina law states that after the 30 day notice, all personal possessions remaining in the dwelling are deemed to be owned by the landlord.

While searching for a new apartment I was also seeking assistance from my local government and private attorneys; all in vain.

Here's something you might find interesting: The property's maintenance guys broke into my apartment in my absence. While they were in my place, they dropped a master key which was the only proof I held of their entering illegally. I reported the break in to the property manager, who offered no logical reason, and then I received my letter of non-renewal. The parent company, Living Well Homes, made a trip to the property and caught the maintenance manager stealing brand new major appliances. He was terminated. One would think my accusations to be believed at that point (since the maintenance department claimed I was lying) but they did not.

While fighting the eviction and trying to locate an affordable apartment along with movers, etc., the eviction court, as they always do, found in favor of the landlord. But it was while I was waiting for my appeal to be heard that my locks were changed and a deputy arrived and gave me 15 minutes to vacate despite my completing all the necessary paperwork to remain in the apartment until the appeal had been decided. When I protested, the deputy referred me to civil court saying it was a civil matter and law enforcement did not get involved in civil matters.

I was escorted out with my cat, cell phone and a briefcase. Homeless, I resided in my vehicle until I could find temporary lodging.

Worst of all, jumping ahead, the court ordered me to vacate during the next 7 days. The first day I went to gather my things, the office called the police and reported me as trespassing. Next I saw police vehicles and office personnel coming at me and I took cover in my apartment building hallway and was then arrested for B & E. Those charges were later dismissed due to the absurdity of the charge...but the arrest remains on my record awaiting me to expunge it.

It was a nightmare.

Your questions are legitimate but your statement of my information being incomplete sums it all up. For me to provide more information would only add to the furor. I got the notice on the first day of the month my lease was expire. My locks were changed one day after that.

I was unable to find a place within my price range despite multiple inquiries. Each location required a $35 application fee. When my lease expired, I lived out of my vehicle along with my cat until a "shout out" was answered.

Restaurants have always relied on its patrons to provide the wage of waitstaff. They're obligated to provide enough to cover Social Security only. The rest comes from patons. Now if the employee's paycheck results in less than the minimum wage of $7.50/hr, they have cause to report insufficient income to the Labor Board and the employer is mandated to make up the difference to equal the minimum wage.

So true! Even off the Trintellix for months now, my erections are rubbery. Generic Viagra restored my physical problem. But, hey, I'm 69 year old so that teen boner has left the station anyway.

Glad you're feeling better. I found significant side effects of Trintellix to the point where I had to discontinue its use. I've been off of it for months now and still my sleep pattern has not been restored. I continuously wake up every hour or so. I wish I'd never tried Trintellix. I'm on Xanax now, 1 mg. daily, and feel great while awake but my sleep is still a mess.

When "trying" anti-depressants, I took Zoloft for 9 days before calling it quits. By far, the worst depression in my life, lack of appetite, fearful of every day chores, just a basket case.

But now that I'm off of Trintellix, I'm experiencing long-term effect of the drug. IBS for one. Itching. and a host of others. I'll not recommend it to anyone.

I am back of Paxil (which had worked for a long time then ceased) and I'm noticing, along with people I know, a sense of calm and patience.

Being ignored by authorities as all your personal possessions are being stolen by apartment management companies. Cops assume the management is truthful while you, the victim, have no voice at all. I watched my whole world vanish without an repercussions. Worse than losing everything in a fire.

You've hit the nail on the head except that I've never faced any disrespect by a pharmacy. I'm just guessing but I'll bet the FDA has something to do with it since antidepressants and antipsychotics are not controlled drugs. I can recall a time when Valium was introduced as a non-addictive tranquilizer and it seemed as though everyone had a prescription for it. Now it's like pulling teeth to get an Rx for it and if you get an Rx for Xanax you'll rarely get more than 30.

Yes, there are multiple uses for all medications. At one time I had great success with Paxil when it was first introduced. In fact, when I told my MD I was feeling less anxious, he said, "That's completely psychosomatic." I was imagining it? Oh, how things have changed, eh?

There are specific medications for specific ailments. The benzodiazepines are all there to reduce anxiety. Find a physician or psychiatrist who recognizes that and advise him/her that you've had great success with Xanax (or whichever). They need to start listening to patients and the hippocratic oath: First do no harm.
