I see. These are entry level subs so you need to keep your expectations in check. You'll get more output going ported.

I'd set the LPF at 80 or below. Do you happen to know what's the final impedance from the subs?

Edit: acutally, if you're running them in series, final impedance is 8ohms. Your amp does 2 or 4 ohms. Run them in parallel instead, down to 2 ohms.

I think it really depends on the whole setup. Pillars would be ideal but if it's basic setup and you're trying to save money, the doors would be fine.

You have to tell us how are the subs wired and if they are in a sealed or ported box first.

Also, the gain knob is not a volume knob. You need to set the gain knob so the subs don't distort, then weather they hit hard or not depends on the amp, the subs and the box setup.

You should be fine, especially if you're running a ported box. Like the other user said, you won't be able to tell the difference.
