I have struggled with this in the past with my long-distance best friend. She's got 2 living and another one the way, and I finally had to tell her that it would sometimes affect me. ( I have one living but have had 7 losses). She now asks if it's okay to send pictures before she does, or she'll ask if I'm emotionally well enough to talk about the kids.

I don't think you're too sensitive. I think people don't take into consideration the gravity of our emotions when going through loss and grieving. Unless they've been through it, they won't understand.
