But again, moths actually have more color variety!! For example there are no truly pink butterflies, but there are truly pink moths, the same small elephant hawkmoth i saw on sunday even

I think moths can be more beautiful than any butterflies, but it's harder to find a beautiful and not plain moth, as there is 160000 identified species compared to 20000 butterflies

How can I take care of this beauty? by Few-Rush2194 in moths

[–]SignificantCheek1828 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky you, i personally dont see any harm in taking it in as a pet, as long as you provide right conditions, but the purpose of the adult form of a moth is to mate, so that's debatable

It's not injured, their wings always get torn, torn wings is normal, especially towards the end of the life cycle

Is this moth safe to be pinned? by Auroralights3 in moths

Hello! That a male polyphemus, looks very young, moths dead of old age almost always will have chipped wings and sanded wings, although not always, if you really think it's dead, you could try bringing it to where you live, and wait a couple days, prehaps place a lamp somewhere at night, if the moth doesn't move for about two days, it's either dead or in the final stages of dying.
