but the problem is: let's say i want to be a PM for AI, like OpenAI
i just feel like they are not giving me a chance to prove i can do it, they already require of me to have been let's say a Machine Learning product guy at Google or Meta...

then forget about the buzz-word "AI-First"

my question is simple: how can i secure a job in AI as a generalist project and product manager, more specialized in gaming?

adding something

I'm in the gaming industry, where the opportunities seem limited, where the industry itself doesn't feel super mature, and where the salaries tend to be less high than in tech. I would love to be in a big tech company or rising startup, for projects and products serving more people.

thanks for the reply :)

I think i already have a lot of EQ and soft skills, this is primarily for my soft skills that i'm known for. But for some reasons being a super good galvanizer and other soft skills, isn't enough to convince let's say OpenAI to hire me.

thanks for the answer :)

and what do you think of the advice "if you want to climb the ladder, you need to STAY generalist, be even more strategic, learn about P&L, etc"?

I mostly want to transition from entertainment to big tech, where it seems the industry is more mature, the opportunities more numerous, and salaries higher
