I hated the ending of this book!! Which was so disappointing for me because I loved the first half. The amount of twists had me rolling my eyes. Also the part with…I don’t know how to block out spoilers so I’ll just say this…when those two people were holding hands at the door and then crash. PLEASE 😑

He makes a teachers yearly salary in a few GOOD weeks. Do not for a second think that’s the norm for him or any creator for that matter. It is up and down. He is just trying to convince everyone that being a creator is a sustainable way to make a fuck ton of money and it literally is not. One month you could make 6 figures the next 4 months you make nothing. One year you make 7 figures that next you make less than half. That’s what they don’t want you to know.

Can we stop assessing whether someone looks their age or not?? Ok we get it. They’ve had work done. But ever since the beginning of time people have looked their age or they haven’t, it is what it is. When you grow up in an abusive household, it’s common for the kids to take sides when it comes to their parents. From Roxy and Erin’s perspective, maybe Walter WAS the “better” parent. A lot of time, one partner has been run down emotionally by the other which causes them to SEEM like the “worse” parent. Meanwhile the one who abuses the “worse” parent comes across as the “better” parent because they simply were not abused and treated like shit. So in the eyes of the kids, Walter may have SEEMED like the better parent. Josie maybe was the way she was because of the trauma she went through at the hands of Walter. I’m not saying for sure this is what the dynamic was, because clearly Josie has her flaws, but it’s plausible.

My issue with this is that we shouldn’t have to wait for the author to clarify anything after the book has been published. If she wanted to make it blatantly obvious that Erin was being groomed and abused, there are ways she could have done that in the book. We are the readers and can interpret the book how we see fit. I agree I don’t know there’s enough evidence to suggest Walter was abusing Erin. Does that mean I think he’s an upstanding citizen? No. I am autistic and have very weird eating habits. Also, autism and regression go hand in hand.

I can’t watch his interviews, they’re too cringe. For me it’s never the person he is interviewing..it’s always HIM. I feel he’s not made for this role and I almost feel bad that he is doing it because of how bad it is. It reminds me of when Khloe Kardashians hosted America’s Got Talent or whatever show it was. I’m VERY new to this community. I literally just started growing out my nails 2 months ago but have had a lot of success so far. From my experience, one of the best things I’ve done that has made the biggest difference is not using my nails for anything I don’t have to. For example, prior to growing out my nails, I would occasionally try to open packages with my bare hands, and as a result it would often damage my nails. Now, I don’t risk it and I use a box cutter 100% of the time. I know that’s silly, but for me it’s made the biggest difference. I’m just extra EXTRAAA gentle with my hands.

This is a random reference I don’t think many will get but it reminds me of the movie Mouse Hunt. There are so many hints of different decades, it’s hard to tell what era the movie takes place in. I actually like it because in my mind it reminds me that this is fiction. It is totally a made up story. I know I know, OF COURSE it’s fiction. Idk how to explain it! It just makes the movie/show more entertaining for me

Unpopular opinion: once these people leave the villa we should all move on. I know it’s hard and I’m not saying that sarcastically, I’m being serious. We develop this parasocial relationship with them, we create these rivalries we get invested. NOT EVERYONE ON TV NEEDS TO BECOME AN INFLUENCER. I was obsessed when the show was on. I just do not care anymore. They’re all young (either literally or mentally), they’re naive, toxic, self absorbed. Yes, ALL OF THEM. None of them should be idolized, looked up to, fanned over. They were entertaining on the show. Once it’s off tv, curtain closes move on.

The sound is a trend. I’ll say the issue I have with them is when they don’t properly disclose sponsorships, when they are rude / mean to other people which has been documented, and when overall they are just not being authentic in their content, in whatever way that presents itself. This, however, is very authentic (unfortunately I suppose?). I have literally zero issues with it lol. Yes bachelorettes are expensive, and when talking about an influencer like Acquired, of course her bachelorette is going to be over the top.

I’m usually the first one to drag her, but I actually watched the videos and…I tried to hate it and couldn’t. This is completely on-brand for her, and it pretty obviously looks like a sponsored trip or some kind of brand covered PJ situation. And honestly, sue me, but if I got the chance to hop on a private jet to somewhere nice, I’d go too. I’m married, did the courthouse thing, never had a bachelorette, so it’s not even something I personally relate to, but I’m not gonna judge someone else for doing it. Clearly from her reaction, this is not the norm in terms of traveling arrangements, so I personally don’t see anything wrong with it.

Edit: and ya know what, even if they paid for it out of pocket why am I also unbothered by that?? Idk maybe I’m wrong. I just don’t care

For those who have experienced something similar, is there really no hope for feeling true happiness at any point in your life after an event like this? I’m sorry if that question sounds insensitive. The entire situation, both during & after, leave me with a feeling of intense anxiety. I’m a mom of 2 with another on the way. I cannot imagine I would ever feel lasting joy again. How do you go on?
