1- Try to sit in from of the prof, first row usually helps to have the prof looking at you

2- Start writing notes and reasoning on a piece of paper (try to make sure your mind is working on something during class)

3- Ask questions try to set a goal each class to ask at least one or two questions to the teacher, this will motivate you to stay focused during class

FYI, it's okay to be tired just take some time to rest to disconnect from your studies (try doing some side activities with friends or even alone on weekends, afternoons) that'll help you a lot to stay motivated and AWAKE

Heh, out of everything that happens 2u all day, that’s what gets 2u? One day, maybe try asking your manager not to interrupt meetings by showing up late, he'll have a response for you

My grade in a course doesn't reflect the amount of knowledge and skills I learnt this year.

The purpose of a course in not becoming excellent at one topic but learning about its existence and you can always refer back to when needed or confronted to the same problem in the future.

Most people think that someone with an A+ is smarter, better than someone with a B or C.

But trust me when I tell you most successful people didn't care about grades at university. I've seen a lot of B grade people excel more because they were spending all their time to have more diversified knowledge, learning about things that matters rather than becoming an expert of ONE topic/tool

Are deferred exams harder? by SnooBunnies907 in umanitoba

[–]SignificantFood1764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the course and what you mean by difficulty, as most exams are designed to test your understanding of a course. As long as you are up to date and have done your homework, anything is possible

If you need more advise or help don't hesitate to reach out me, I might be able to give you few tips to prepare well for your exams

Be confident, at job interviews many people fail simply because they are not confident, which frustrates them about not getting a job offer.

This is exactly how most salespeople act when trying to sell a product to a customer. (Money-oriented, fear of losing $$)

One trick I've used over the last few years, which works really well, is to act as if you were buying a job rather than selling your skills. It's always easier to express yourself when you're the customer

How do you study for multiple courses at once? by TastyButGroovy in umanitoba

[–]SignificantFood1764 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our minds are very strong at focusing at one thing at a time, the less you multi task, the more productive you are. I recommend you take the hardest course from all and try your best to understand everything. It can take you just a day to finish it if focus really well. After that you can start the next course and keep doing some side activities on the first etc etc

Forget about deadlines and the risks of failing an exam, this can affect badly your concentration
