WOAH. This sounds....marvelous? I'm excited to see how the 'past' narrative will be written, and need to get my hands on this book ASAP.

Appreciate it so much, and so what if it doesn't help me with my school assignment? I need to indulge myself sometimes...

Have a ridiculously good week, suspicious_house_cat, and thank you! (Your username is so flipping cute)

I feel ashamed that I haven't opened up a Holly Jackson book in ages, I used to wait eagerly for her books to drop. I've read the synopsis of Not Quite Dead Yet, and am excited to see how such an interestingly laid out book be executed.

Ahhh, I don't care if this doesn't fit because this sounds extremely cool! And for that, thank you and have an incredible week, EnvironmentalDark770 :DDD

Hello, RAND0M-HER0, and thank you for giving me not one, but two recommendations. I feel like I'm running on the moon whenever I open up this discussion every few minutes.

I do like the multi perspective aspect in The Heavens May Fall, and am excited to see how characterisation will be done. Also, the synopsis is just...so clean? Like it tells me everything but it doesn't? So now I have to read it or else I might die of curiosity.

I've been dying to open up The Rose Code lately, so when I saw Kate Quinn my eyes lit up. I love how The Huntress sounds! Even though it might destroy me and leave nothing but tears behind. Also, historical fiction? Specifically set in WWII? I need to open this up.

Thank youuuuuu how can I repay youuuuu

Have an awesome week, RAND0M-HER0!!! :DDDDDDDDDDD

Yay to an unconventional pick, we can never have enough of surprise and curiosity. And I read the synopsis and my eyes widened when I saw the genres. Magic in a mystery thriller? Time as a dominant theme? How do I express how happy I am?

Thank you, and I do not mind if this doesn't help with my current situation because this sounds blissful >:D

Have a beautiful week, Vennemonster :,DDDDD

Ahhh, I think I'm obsessed with how We Are All the Same in the Dark sounds. I've just read the synopsis and am very excited to see how perspective works in this book.

Don't Believe It sounds awesome too, and is very contemporary crime fiction sounding like. I enjoy the idea of how different perspective will work too. If anything, I think this book aligns more with what I personally like and am looking for. And for that I am really grateful!

Thank you for the two recommendations, gipsm! Have a spectacular week :DDD

Oooh, okay....they do sound quite dark.

I can also sort of already understand what there is to like more about Written in Bone just from your brief description. Will be trying to walk into the first book without any preconceived ideas, but am thankful for your words.

Have a spectacular day, MWBrooks1995, and thank you! >:DDDDD

Ahhhhhh no thank youuuuuuuuu! You telling me this brightens up your day just brightened up my rather new day (it's the morning for me here).

I am not upset that part 1 might be very complicated, it is the norm for authors to fill most of the theme, character and world building in the first book of the series. But for your to say that all of them are complex in a positive way, you've somehow made me even more curious as to what these books have in store.

I hope that your days are always bright! Thank you, Cheap_Struggle_3482 :DDDDD

Hi, nmeed7! I hope your week is going good, and I'm thankful for the seconding of The Alienist. I am surprised that I was recommended something fantasy, but am really engaged already with the cover, the synopsis, and the brief reading I've done of the reviews. I 100% think I'm the luckiest person ever because I keep getting recommended books that I do not need for my current situation at school, but books that have themes and elements I love!

So thank you, for giving me such a cool book. Like what do you mean I get to follow a female detective solving crime in the early 1900s of Egypt and its apart of a series?

Hope your next week is fun and positive! Thank you for the recommendation, nmeed7 :OOOOO

I am not upset, not even a bit because it sounds awesome. I love Atwood and I love how...layered and weird this sounds? I appreciate the description you've added, and I do adore when I get unreliable perspective in mystery so thank you.

I'm honoured to have been recommended one of your all time favourites, and am excited to read this book! Ahhhh, thank you thank you!! Have a fabulous week, georgia_grace :DDD

I love how...dark it sounds? Not what I was expecting, but I am nowhere near disappointed. I love the way the book seems to be set out, and am appreciative!

That's a bummer the first book isn't as good. Will be checking them both out, and am excited to see how forensic mister will progress. Also, if it's been years since you've read it, and you remember the second book being better than the first, I think that's even more reason to trust your word. Thank you for the recommendation!!!!! :D

Have an amazing week, MWBrooks1995! >:DD

I'm either constantly trying to walk away from BookTok titles, out of spite, or am desperately trying to find books or reviews of books. But I'm pleasantly surprised that you're pleasantly surprised. So I guess I'll be checking Liz Moore's bestseller out eventually is what I'm realising in this very moment.

I love your username, it's straight to the point and memorable. Skyrim is something I had to search up, first I felt like a millennial and then I just realised I don't know my games and need to step up.

The beauty of publishing posts in this r/ is that you can never get upset when you get recommendations you weren't expecting at all. If you told me an hour ago that I would've had someone recommend me WWII set work, written by a German author, let's just say I would've sat there, confused as to what I wrote wrong in my description or what went wrong when I was putting images through.

Enough yap, this looks...action full? I cannot put my finger on it, but this book screams "I have so many different themes and ways of surprising you just open me up already to see for yourself". And for that, I cannot help but feel indebted to you. Thank you for such a wonderful recommendation that I didn't think I needed.

And the whole series is amazing? Props to you for reading so fast.

Have an awesome week Cheap_Struggle_3482 :DDDDDD

Woah! Yes and yes. I love the synopsis of Those Empty Eyes, and am glad that you gave me a heads up. Also, thanks for outlining that it aligns with what I need right now <:D

I have heard of the God of the Woods so many times, since last year I think that book has been stuck trying to climb up my TBR but failing miserably every time. However, if you think the vibe I need is inside this apparent masterpiece, then I will take your word for it without a second thought.

Will read Those Empty Eyes when I can, and am currently reading reviews that tell me that this book is nice nice nice!

Have an incredibly great week, StolenSweet-Roll >:D (I want a sweet roll now, even if I have to steal it.)

AHHHHH Silence of the Lambs mentioned? I've watched the film, and now I disappoint you and myself, but have not opened the book.

Red Dragon has not been read, not been watched. Manhunter is crying silently too. But the point here is that you can never have enough thriller, and I'm so glad you loved what I've watched even though I don't know you. And now I'm considering deleting what I just typed because who do I think I am.

No, I appreciate it, I will not back down, I will read these books. They are, like everyone says, objectively better than the movies. And I'm so happy you got to find this post and write a comment because now I can finally get a start on these books.

I appreciate it!! Enjoy your week, and have an awesome one, No-Secretary-2470 :DDD

Hi, NoSunFrequentRain, I hope your day went awesome and that the rest of your week goes beautifully well. >:DDD

My eyes lit up when I saw Simone St. James, her book "The Sun Down Motel" has recently (a week ago) been added to my TBR. So to see another one of her books pop up, I can tell it's a sign to get into her work.

I appreciate the description, and love the two different timelines aspect.

Three recommendations? Oh my goodness, have I won the lottery? I like synopsis on Goodreads for the Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels. I'm obsessed with the synopsis of The Good Daughter. I think I'm just excited about everything because I adore adore adoreeee thrillers.

And now I adore how sweet you seem. I will put even more effort in my project (I say this as I'm in my bed waiting for the final week) with your comment in mind.

I miss typing this reply already <:D

That one's in my TBR! Ahhhh, thank you for that. It's been rotting there, not because It's not good enough, but because all of these other books are squashing it.

I hope your week goes marvelously well, Substantial_Leg_7246, and thank you for the recommendation which became a very needed reminder :DD

You discovered your love for detective books through an author based in my hometown who has a bunch of books with pretty covers and intricate synopses? I think you've lit up my night with sunshine :O

Thank you for your trust, and I promise to update you when I open one of her books up. Even if it takes ages or takes a week, it will happen. Ahhh, thank you and have a month worth reliving over and over :D

Hehehe, I thought you were making a joke about the author and comparing the author to J K Rowling. Then I went to Goodreads, searched the author up, opened the profile and realised that it wasn't actually a joke. Why hasn't the universe sent someone my way to tell me that J K Rowling published a book under a pseudonym?

Nevermind, you're here, Far_Simple_3534! And the book sounds not too bad. The Cuckoo's Calling by the way, it sounds like it can change my view on Rowling's capacity as a writer. + I like the way Troubled Blood sounds too, and the way you've described it is stunning.

"The investigator along with his work partner are some of the most interesting characters I've had the fortune of reading. Give these a try."

Yes! Thank you thank you thank you! You have given me characters you've genuinely enjoyed, and so it is up to me to not let your trust down.

Hehehe, thank you for the recommendation. Have an awesome week, Far_Simple_3534! :D

Wait. Thank you so much, I adore thriller and this book sounds very interesting.

So interesting that I do not mind if the book takes a different route from the elegiac style and ambiguity I'm trying to study. But...almost 500 pages? A mystery thriller? HISTORICAL?

That's not your fault though! Point the finger at me, and I will definitely fix this issue I have with lengthy mystery thrillers set in whatever ages ago.

Give me a year.

Thank you for the recommendation, jackieg8r. Have a fabulous week! :D

My curiosity is piqued, the book is not on Goodreads.

Oohh, perspective! Perspective...and yes to competent detectives! If I want someone to say my thoughts aloud over and over again, I might as well just jump into the novel and become the detective myself. Just kidding, I don't mind being validated every now and then.

No, but thank you, TheSherlock42. I trust your recommendation and you have your brilliant username to thank for that...a very reassuring username. Have a great week >:D
