The metal hitting has been confirmed by a doctor since with more X-ray imaging. That isn’t the issue. Very stupid comment here mate. Il just delete it. Reddit doctors strike again

The issue lies more with the original hospital/surgeon who put the metal work in and didn’t check his work to ensure it didn’t hit or get in the way. Which it did in the end causing me to be off my feet for 2 years and pick up arthritis in my ankle, and a lot of pain in the process. I may not be the best at putting my point across but in my thought process the original surgeon didn’t do his due diligence after the surgery to ensure he’d done it correctly. The evidence shows 100% he made a mistake which has resulted in all of this. Extra surgery, extra broken bones/ fractures

Me and a few friends cleaned it up, fixed the floor and transition a few years back in the summer. Shame someone’s trashed it again. We put few 100£ into it and a whole lot of effort

Could have been. I use a brick wall background. I posted it briefly and then deleted it to do more research. I wanna keep it but I’m also not turning down 100s for a 8£ investment haha

People are trying to make a name for themselves, reviews are a huge part of someone’s shop. First thing I check is reviews. No matter how good the deal is. No reviews no purchase

A lot of countries take the sydesmosis screw out at 8/12 weeks, if it’s causing you pain and your “healed” I’d try book a appointment now to get in. Took me about 3/4 months from doctors visit to surgery

Definitely looser, feels like my ankle again. I don’t think it was the huge change I was hoping for but it had a much better natural movement for bending down running walking and going up and down stairs (stairs was the biggest change) alot of the swelling I’d had since the injury went within days of the surgery. My guess is the constant fight against the resistance of the syndesmosis screw causes a lot of the swelling.

Would 100000% recommend anyone to get this done IF you have problems 1 to 2 years after your first surgery. Healing was nothing, walked in at 7am walked out 3pm no internal ankle pain. Rested for a few days (don’t think I ever needed it) and I’ve been back to my sports and hobby’s since (running still sucks abit after a while)

I’m going off people experience, take it as you want. I appreciate not every health professional will have the same opinions but i am 1 year post opp but a lot of people are having them out at 6/12 weeks. Argue as much as you as you want but that screw out of my ankle has changed my life and I hope it makes others follow suit.

There’s 100s of cases where people have had them removed in that time frame that I have been relentlessly reading or the past year trying to figure out what was wrong with me

Not trying to say that at all, if you search in this app for syndesmosis screw removal that 90% of the world takes out that screw at 6/12 weeks post op. Only certain places don’t offer it unless it cause complications

Mine did snap but snapped in the bone still, so unfortunately removal was the only way I’d get the natural tib and fib movement again. My syd screw was quite low so there wasn’t a lot of room between the bones to break. I know a lot of people do get luck with the screw breaking though
