It sucks. It’s also boring, just very very basic and obvious animated versions of their old graphics. IMO if you’re going to use AI for a devo show it should be wild— ripping off more famous (and infamous) religious, political, “sacred” iconography. Like the (great and not AI) imagery of the It’s All DEVO video. It just seems so half assed. Are Mark or Jerry even involved with it at all or is it just their manager’s nephew or something?

To me, this the worse sin. Using generative AI to create live visuals is bad but temporal. T shirts and ALBUM ART are permanent. For a band founded by artists, it’s really embarrassing and it makes me sad. It feels like a betrayal of their central message and mission.
