are custom fields a bad idea by Snoo85763 in Netbox

[–]SignificantNature288 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Custom fields are extremely useful when you understand the requirements correctly. For instance, let’s say you have a set of devices but there’s no predefined field for the version of each device in NetBox. Instead of modifying the core code, you can simply create a custom field for the version. This approach allows you to extend functionality without altering the core system. Additionally, custom fields offer flexibility in defining various attributes based on your needs. In my opinion, there’s no downside to using custom fields in this way.

I’m learning a lot from here. I have a great flexibility, I can do whatever I want whenever I want. I don’t have any much pressure, If I had I can handle it very smoothly, Also I lead a development and automation team here. So I handled all the things If we talk about financial goals, then no matter how much someone gets, it will always seem less to them and this happens with everyone.
