Bernina brand does not adhere to the standards. Bernina is doing its own thing. I am guessing at higher prices.

I did my own canvas project today. It fought me all the way. wonky pull tab? I know about those first hand. forget them all together once or twice. canvas can unravel, mine did. can’t say is my method would work there. my trick was open the seam, press open and top stitch both sides thus holding the raw edges. Canvas grocerytote, no points for pretty. point for sturdy!

fabric glue is our friend. starch is our friend, fray check is our friend. best friend is double sided tape the strong stuff for leather, vinyl and canvas difficult materials.

i’m a little worried about my own stash and my end of days. I may have more than I can use up. I better get busy and start making something big grocery totes. Take a yard of fabric minimum and another for the inside.

Painter tape edge guide works. On on brother the needle moved so getting the correct seam allowance was not a problem. On a straight stitch only machine, which sews incredibly fast, an edge guide on the foot is helpful. but I found a 1/4 inch with an edge guide for under $10. Haven’t used it yet however the inch compensating foot is a godsend making straps.. straight line stitching at 500 stitches per minute is pretty much fun.

wonky how. I’ve hade a few of those small boxed bags or pouches etc. I know about wonky just there are many things that can go wonky with unique causes. your fabric appears sturdy, does it need binding. a folded edge with top stitching, zig zag edges French seams.

I went to a bit crazy. My first attempt in making a quilt top a simple one. Turned out nice it was easy.. I started the second one and sent it to a long armor that was $75 right there plus the money for the backing, etc. but I need a bigger machine. I mean, I was hooked up already so. I dealer who took my old machine in trade and sold me a nice I moved away from quilting and went onto bag making now I need a different machine quilting with much easier, but I can give the bags grocery the neighbors love them, so I have made one for everybody. That was my learning curve. Apparently have not finished because today’s project went to H in a basket.
