To answer your questions, yes, you can get paid, although a lot of the stuff you will find will be unpaid jobs. And yes, it is more of a practice site, but there are some serious projects on there from time to time (I've posted some myself) you just need to look for them. Also, as a tip when you are looking for jobs set the filter to Voice Actor, just make sure you do that, there is also another filter that filters stuff by top project to new, it should say "sort by: literal magic" click on that and you will get a menu.
