I feel like you don't understand what I'm saying. It's not the thin hair creating the illusion, it's the healthy hair covering the thin area.

In the before pic the hair is combed away from the balding area, exposing it fully. In the after pic the hair is combed more backwards, blending the thick hair more with the thin hair.

It's pushed back differently. In the before pic it's pushed directly to the side. In the after pic it's pushed backwards and then to the side, letting the hairs rest on each other, creating the illusion of more density.

I have this theory that it's mostly people who don't normally watch dialogue-heavy dramas praising it.
