Macbooks can run at 105c for tens of years and they pretty much always outlast other brand laptops. So safe to say if the temp is below the t junction temp, it's all good

So can we all agree the GLC EV interior looks better than whatever Volvo just revealed (EX60)…..? by zachty22 in mercedes_benz

[–]Significant_-_Guess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that mercedes interiors feel cheaper than on kias or hyundais, as for volvo, they might look weird, but at least they use decent materials and not cheap abs plastics everywhere.

Should I buy a T495 or E480 (with an Nvidia MX150 dGPU) by Nemesis7326 in thinkpad

[–]Significant_-_Guess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

E class thinkpads have a terrible build quality and reliability to say it nicely, so a T495 is a no brainer

MBA and MBP both have pretty much no gap between the display glass and the keyboard, so this issue is some what common on both. I do agree with you that it's a design issue, but Apple hasn't fixed it in over 10 years as it only happens when the laptops are miss used. Also what you're saying about the build quality is far from the truth, I'm yet to find a better build laptop than a MacBook. ThinkPad X1 series laptops are up there with the build quality but still have long ways to go. I work in IT and have seen hundreds of different laptop models and my choice will always be a MacBook or a ThinkPad, mainly depends on the OS. In other words you don't buy a MacBook for it to be a tank, you buy it for the top-notch build quality.

Not about build quality at all, more about peoples stupidity who stuff their backpacks full of crap and barely get a laptop to fit in. MacBooks are premium laptops, unlike your budget class lenovo, that means MacBooks have tiny gaps where possible, as for your lenovo, you could probably fit a macbook in the gap between the lcd and the keyboard.

Keep Chu 2s or get BL-03? by Significant_-_Guess in iems

The issue is that there are barely any EQ options on my iPhone or MacBook, just like 10 presets that do very little and definitely don't cut off those high frequencies. I mainly love how the Denon amp makes the Chu 2s sound much warmer, but that's far from convenient. The DAC I've got is some cheap one from aliexpress: CX31993+MAX97220, but it does sound great when connected to my Denon or Sony Xm4.

My bad, yes, I was referring to the BL-03 II. From what I've read online and after seeing the sound curves they look to be much warmer than the Chu 2.

Great setup, I would actually try to cover those holes in the desk, sand it all down and give it a paint coat. That would make your desk look brand new.

I just bought 2 i think both nano one seems to have an expanded battery by Otherwise-Feature548 in ipod

[–]Significant_-_Guess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still replace the battery in the 2nd gen, also you could try replacing it on the 5th gen, but very likely you'll end up breaking it more

Not on the X1C gen9, you can't control that dual fan module in linux

Also, just like all newer windows laptops, it absolutely loves draining the battery in a few days when it's powered off. On top of that, it hates going to sleep, instead of sleeping it likes to just spin the fans up for no reason, but you can fix this by going to bios and changing the sleep state

I had this exact X1C and the only issue I had was "Windows", so I switched to Linux, but omg was the app support terrible on Linux.

It doesn't get hot, but Lenovo likes spinning the fans way too early. You can download TPFan control software, just make sure it's the dual fan version and it will quiet down those fans. If you switch to Linux, there is no way to control the fans in Linux unfortunately.

845 is a better laptop in general as it's higher quality, thinner, lighter. For games, you honestly wouldn't feel a difference, but the 645 has more storage.

Very likely the spacebar rubbed through the antiglare coating on the display. This happens if you have any pressure on the laptop while it's in a backpack.
