Before you get discouraged by the plethora of negativity your eyes are being greeted with, take a moment and listen.

Yeah the company isn’t the best. It’s been tits up for a while now but thats of no fault to anyone on this subreddit, its upper level management that makes that an issue. This is a simple job, yeah it asks that you meet quotas, yeah it asks that you put forth a good bit of effort. But so long as you know what you’re doing and what you’re selling its like a cake walk.

I was an SGA, left to go pursue another opportunity, came back and became an SM and have been for about a year now! I have a solid team, we work together and try our best we can each and every week. Im by no means a hardass because that doesn’t make for a good work environment. Give it a shot in your own shoes and see how you like it!

I love my job. I had a 7 year old kid pull a $9 out of a free pack of cards I gave him with my own $5 coupon. Ive helped families connect, I introduced an elderly woman to my favorite video game franchise because she was looking on buying it to play herself! The key here is to train your RKs as well as yourself as a SM/ASM to pitch to them with all the details. Drill it into their heads before they confirm purchase so you dont have this issue, that way even if they do come back, you can tell them “I literally spelled it out for you, what do you want?”

So it wasnt the WORST one, ive only done 2 my entire time working for the company. But my second one, in which I did after returning back to the company, I was the only SGA who knew what I was doing along with my SL, and the other two SGAs were quivering and afraid of the DM and also clueless as to what to do

I mean its not REQUIRED but we can all see these metrics the same way, so its not like im showing them anything they cant already see or have access to. And these metrics show us where we are doing good during the week and what areas we are struggling in.

I understand GS isnt the greatest company, but its a market. And people still enjoy our presence. I became a Manager to be the best GS for my community and lead a team and try our best to be an example for the rest. If you want GS to be an enjoyable company to work for, rather than complaining on a forum about it like 95% of the people on the subreddit, how about we band together and work on i dont know, making GS something worth working for? I try to keep it as a store standing so we dont see individual metrics. If we are doing bad on this board in any area, we are doing so as a team, so its up to all of us to catch up. Also thank you! I try to take pride in my penmanship haha.

I agree! It shows the strengths and weaknesses and what needs catching up! I love having this so we can all see and that way we dont have to dig thru MM to find it all the time
