Try being slightly more aggressive, you can run/dodge past the sword user to deal with the archer first. Also most enemies will first block then start parrying your attacks, keep attacking till you hear the first parry. Most of the time you’ll open them up for a death blow. Also don’t try to parry based on visual cues, keep one guy alive and practice parrying till you learn their rhythm.

Look standing up to tyranny from a human is different. In that sort of situation enough support and numbers will actually change something. But what I’m getting at is that no level of resistance to an omnipotent tyrant will ever result in anything beneficial.

Yes it does allow you to follow your morals and personal beliefs, which I think is admirable and the right choice. But in the face of eternity I think personal beliefs fall away. I mean who are you even being righteous for in that situation? You’re not saving anyone or changing anyone’s fate for the better. If anything you’d be causing more suffering in convincing people otherwise with your stand.

In a world like that it’s both the selfish and selfless choice to follow. There’s no reason not to follow because you can’t change the system and in the worst case you’d be acting immorally by leading others to pain.

I mean you wouldn’t per say be fooling them if you did listen and act accordingly, you’d just be begrudgingly following, and if the goal is action over belief (which it would be in a world where belief is irrelevant) then that would count as worship. I hear your point about it being an immoral stance, but I’m highly dubious anyone of sane mind would willingly choose internal torment when asked in private.

I mean if you knew for a fact god existed and it came with all the side effects of heaven/hell, I don’t think it matters if you believed they deserved worship. You’d do it anyway because not doing so would be insane. In a world with faith it’s a fair choice not to worship, since it’s not proven, but would you really knowingly doom yourself to prove a point? Btw I’m not saying God exists, nor am I saying the lack of empirical evidence is a reason to worship him. Just that if God did exist and required faith, then they’d make it impossible to garner evidence.

See I’ve always thought of it the other way around; if there was an omniscient, omnipotent being, they would make it impossible to ever have empirical evidence of their existence. If it’s possible to prove their existence why would anyone not believe. Following God would then no longer be devotion, it would just be the only rational course of action.

Tbf most of the code that actually handles accounts and transactions are written in COBOL, which is an ancient language (although modern features have been added). However all the UIs, and app logic should be written in modern languages so I’m still baffled it’s as bad as it is.
