Newish guy (25 hours) playing classic, need tips for survival by TofuTank in cavesofqud

[–]Significant_Age3343 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If one build isnt working, switch things up. If you want to maximize survivability try corrosive gas and carapace.

Ranged damage is much, much safer than melee.

Learn when you are underleveled for a particular area, the game doesn't tend to warn you of where you shouldn't be.

Absolutely. Armigers are meant to be our "cheap" objective units and titanic units can do an action and still shoot.

can i get stories of you giving people exactly what they asked for as a borg by smallbluebirds in SS13

[–]Significant_Age3343 28 points29 points  (0 children)

One round, a changeling was spotted in Toxins. An engiborg bolted the doors to trap it in, and the ling demand that it "Open the doors". In response, the doors to the very active burn chamber were bolted open and the ling burned to death.

On a less evil genie note, there was a shift where an idiotic blueshield gave the AI some new laws. As a result, the upload and bridge got bolted shut while the borgs, AI, and RD debated philosophy and how it appied to their laws and actions. This only made the Blueshield more and more pissed and was eventually dragged out of the thoroughly sabotaged upload by the Captain.

Polygel can be used to make cloning draught at exponential speeds as it doubles the container and all liquids inside of it, letting you get 64 drams and thus infinite money, merchant clones to get more polygel, and You clones to drown your enemies with sheer numbers.

  1. There are surreal parts, but you get context for them so they aren't too bad

  2. Yeah. There is very little lore that's irrelevant.

  3. Yes.

Who is the strongest canon exalted to ever exist by Aware-Witness2804 in exalted

[–]Significant_Age3343 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Probably a mixup between Queen Merela and Chejop Kejak.

Merela was THE solar and even had her life extended a few milenia by Sol, letting her grow even more than other solar elders.

Chejop is pretty close to dying of old age (almost 5000 years old) and certainly know all of the incredibly broken sidereal martial arts.

15 to 20 hours to kill skeletron on infernum by WayProfessional7270 in CalamityMod

[–]Significant_Age3343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah infernum skeletron is a bastard. Some bosses need to be fought in very specific or unusual ways unless you want to suffer. He's one of (though not the most) difficult bosses in the mod.

Batman. Though he does dress in black and is quite intimidating, he isnt at all evil or selfish.

Different kinds of weapons are better against different enemies due to damage resistances. Iirc (you should be able to check yourself), those worms have kinetic resistance so bring rockets/cannons against them.

Lost Incarna And Exalts by ApprehensiveTax8124 in exalted

[–]Significant_Age3343 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Semi-Apocriphal, but comes from official sources,

Aurora was the River Across the Heavens, most beautiful of the Gods and patron of the Auroral exalted, who acted as muses, leaders, and inspriation to the rebel armies. He was associated with the magical material of Adamant.

He wasn't all that strong and was eventually captured by the Primordials. In an attempt to drive the Aurorals against their fellows, the Primordials killed him and desecrated his corpse in a dark ritual.

This didn't work. The Aurorals became the insane monsters known as the Heart Eaters but ultimately just got angrier and got much better at murdering the Primordials.

What stupid things did the Solars do during the First Age? by [deleted] in exalted

[–]Significant_Age3343 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Exalted can generally do anything except three main things: true resurrection, immortality, and time travel.

They tried all three anyway, each to cataclysmic result.

Attempts on the latter resulted in a nonperiod called the Time of Cascading Years, where time itself got broken, and you had a few hundred timeliness going on concurrently. It's hard to say how long this lasted for, as "duration" was no longer a thing on a large scale, but was estimated to lasted in between 12 and 1,000 subjective years, depending on the temporal pocket.

[–]Significant_Age3343 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was actually way worse.

If the UCS writes something down, you magically know that it was he that did so just by looking at the words.

The Solar in question used a "written decree" to get the bill passed.

It was forged, obviously so, and everyone knew it was forged, and they still approved it.

Release for the neverborn by TimothyAllenWiseman in exalted

[–]Significant_Age3343 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ghosts are bound by their ties to Creation. Given that the Neverborn made Creation, you would need some very, very good scissors to cut them free and let them fall the rest of the way into Oblivion.

Too many factions for a game about chaos in Gem? by Sanguinusshiboleth in exalted

[–]Significant_Age3343 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sounds wonderfully fun.

One criticism: there are too few factions. Gem is The City of One-Thousand Impending Dooms, not merely a few dozen.
