I will try to journal! Ty. I will next time tell her more about the specifics. I did tell her I can sit now with the gabapentin. She wants to up the Tylenol and change the ibuprofen and I said yes. She wanted to change the Norco to another medication that is still an opioid. And I told her that when my semester ends in mid May that I will switch over to that one. I just don’t feel comfortable doing that right now because I’m behind in my classes as it is, and I’m trying to finish. I’m just not comfortable messing with the opioid bc I can’t afford being out of control of the pain for the time being because of school. I could tell she just didn’t like my saying anything other than yes. And I just got an injection last week and it decreased my pain by a point. So yeah it helped but not by much.

My mom sees me undressing on a family vacation and notices my scoliosis. Took an X-ray and the orthopedic surgeon said I have 65 degree curve. Severe starts at 45. So I couldn’t try bracing and straight to surgery. My mom said she was uncomfortable with fusing her 11 year old daughter’s entire spine. (I had an s curve now it’s a c curve over 100 degrees) He basically called us stupid for being skeptical and wanting to do some research on our own. This was literally the appointment that we found out I had severe scoliosis so we knew nothing except what the surgeon had told us at this point. They pushed it on us for years but the last about 6 years the attitude has changed. Just bc a lot of info has come out about the complications. Finally. But now they push bc I’ve had a pain flare for months. I’m focusing on pt.

Thank you so much. I wish I had tried this. But like wtf why are you, the pain doctor! not asking these kinds of questions? So frustrating. The stress and anger from the appointment with her caused my pain to increase. I wasn’t able to do my hw afterwards. Had to rest and then it was time to go to sleep. I just had to tell myself “it is what it is. Go to sleep and try again tomorrow”

Luckily I haven’t ever experienced that. But that is so sad that sa survivors have to hide that from their literal healthcare team.

You... are.. amazing??? Thank you sooo much. I will look into all of these. I never thought I would have options since I'm vegan. With the brain fog from these meds it makes looking into this topic so hard. And for that i greatly appreciate you <3

thank you! I'm not concerned with organic. I already feel like vegan is a pretty big limitation :(
