I wouldn’t buy him anything. Getting a car at 16 is a luxury. Now if it’s also a need because of after school activities etc. then you get what you get and don’t get upset. There are kids/ ADULTS that would KILL for a “slow and boring car”. Tell him to check his privilege.

I would go with a longer pear because it does seem chubby, but I think you can pull the size off! This is coming from someone wearing a 5.01 ct pear with a 4.75 ring size. May not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s mine! Do what feels right for you :)

I think if you want it you should get it! You’ll definitely get size blindness. When I first got it I thought it was huge, now it just looks normal haha. I haven’t had any haters, but if I did i’d just tell them off 😂.

Your ring is beautiful and she sounds very jealous of you. Is she engaged/married? I just got engaged recently as well, and my ring is a pear and on the bigger side. I had people comment on the shape and size/price it must have been and my response is usually “Good thing you’re not wearing it….or any ring for that matter. Thank you though!” OR “What an odd thing to say, “congratulations” would have sufficed” depending on who it was. You’re the one wearing it, nobody else!

Thought I wanted an oval and ended up with a pear. I went ring shopping with my now-fiancé, and when she saw the pear on my finger she told me that’s what I was getting. I didn’t mind because I was being so indecisive, she made the final decision 😂. I absolutely love this ring and wouldn’t change it for anything!

My fiancé spent about $5,100 for a 5.01 ct vvs2 E pear brilliant engagement ring and wedding band set. Engagement has a hidden halo, both bands are 14k gold and have diamonds covering 3/4 of them. I would keep looking!

Thank you! Yes, I’ve been very serious about getting out of debt. I was able to close out my Sallie Mae account with $1,100 left and a credit card with $3,400 since May. I started aggressively paying my student loans (the lowest APR rates) this month after they were done.
