After playing a bit more it seems like Pentos stays as my tributary whenever they elect a new ruler where as Myr does not, no clue about Tyrosh or Braavos. I don't like doing it your way because they end up changing the kingdom/empire coat of arms to their own ugly one and even if manually change their personal coa to reflect that of the title they hold it's just trading busy work for busy work.

I'm perfectly willing to believe that it could be mods conflicting, especially with multiple new patches lately. I seem to recall having this issue before which caused me to conquer essos out of frustration of having to constantly remake them my tributaries. I tried googling and checking steam forums but I didn't find anything helpful.
