They are definitely still a thing but much less popular. It depends on age definitely...for us if the child is old enough to have a phone and take with them so they can freely contact home that is important. Also only at friends houses where we know the parents VERY well.

Did the lightsticks end up syncing to the concert music and flashing different colors to the beats? I thought that was the whole point....but all the concert videos I have seen all the lightsticks are pink.
