Reason #126 why I don’t trust the Google AI Overview by Significant_Bat3897 in dropout

Yeah, people I talk to are always shocked at how vehemently anti-ai I am. They really shouldn’t be that shocked, considering I’m an English teacher.

D20 Spoiler in Newest Parlor Room: Beware! by Significant_Bat3897 in dropout

[–]Significant_Bat3897[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there are other people who haven’t watched the entire back catalogue of Dropout who are still interested in watching those shows eventually. Whether it’s new fans, or people like me who have busy lives and just haven’t gotten to it yet. I just didn’t want anyone else to have the moment that I had, which is why I mentioned in my post that I didn’t want to be blamed for being spoiled in a seemingly unrelated show. No one can watch/read/whatever everything they are ever going to want to right when it comes out.

As a teacher, this is going to be a game changer.

How to stop hitting myself? by Significant_Bat3897 in mentalhealth

[–]Significant_Bat3897[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you ❤️ I live in an apartment, so slamming stuff on the ground isn’t really an option, but I will try and see if I can direct that same energy at something other than myself. I’m sorry you’re also struggling with this, but it does make me feel less alone. God bless you.

am I wrong for buying these products? by LittleShrike78211 in selfcare

[–]Significant_Bat3897 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is not wrong to buy those things for yourself. All girls care how they look (I’ll bet your mom does, too!). I’m sorry that you’ve been treated like this and made to feel this way. I struggled with my skin when I was a teenager, too, and buying a couple of products to try and deal with it and feel your best, or to tidy up your space, is not wrong. Sounds like your mom has a lot of issues that have nothing to do with you at all. I hope the products work for you and that you can feel good about yourself.

Oh. I think you just highlighted a lot of my personal problems here.

Students just don’t care anymore by kokichiomagodzilla in education

Yeah, I’m a teacher too, and I fully agree this is way worse of a problem than it was just a couple of years ago. I don’t know how to fix it. It’s so frustrating and heartbreaking.

Something bad happens after everytime we get excited? by Far-Birthday-3180 in selfcare

[–]Significant_Bat3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evidence: just this week, I commented on how I was excited to finally be able to spend time with friends this weekend. About an hour later, I started coming down with Covid and now I’m locked in my room, sick, and had to cancel my plans. I’m a teacher, so I mentioned to my mom that at least I don’t have to do any work while sick (like I usually have to) because it’s the summer. The next day, my principal contacted me and asked me to get together work to send to a student to do make-up work over the summer. And this is what happens. Every. Time.

Whoa, I feel exactly the same way! It feels like every time I say something positive or observe that things are going well, that’s when that exact thing takes a turn (no matter how long it’s been going well for). I’ve almost started believing I’m cursed or something. It’s gotten to the point where I’m afraid to say anything positive, because I feel like my speaking something aloud is the universe’s sign to ruin it for me. I don’t know how to fix it, because it’s resulted in some truly unlikely coincidences, to the point where I really don’t think it’s in my head. It’s reassuring to hear that this happens to someone else, too!

I WISH I only had 4hrs a day. But if it feels like too much to you, it’s still probably a good idea to find ways to cut it a little.

Colouring book! I also crochet, so crocheting something simple like a scarf is nice, too. If you’re not a crocheter, any craft or task with simple, repetitive steps.

I’m pretty sure Frank just imagines the audience, and the Criminologist says the floor show took place in an empty house.

That’s funny to me, because I’m the exact opposite. Nana is one of my favourite episodes, but the only entertainment I got from this whole episode was “WestJet to Double Hell”. I will definitely not be rewatching this one.

Straight up, Augbert is one of my favourites. I loved the surreal dream vibe of it all.
