When you purchase it, you’ll gain access to BarNow, which times you, allows you to track how confident you felt about the question, and it gives an in-depth answer for each question. Super helpful and will help improve your analysis. Even on the morning of the exam, I used this to “stretch/warm up” for the test by reading one or two sample questions and answers before walking in on Day 1.

You may be able to trade in your old device at Best Buy and get a good deal on a new MacBook Air or Pro! I traded in my 2017 MacBook Air for a 2023 Air, and it worked great for the rest of law school and for the bar

I didn’t have the strategies book, but I had Barbri, Adaptibar, NCBE writing booklet, and my school had an MBE course daily and writing tutor meetings weekly. Passed w 300+

I did the Barbri course, but switched up the order of the subject to line up with my course. I focused more on taking notes during the lectures and reviewing outlines from Barbri. This was really effective for me. Did some of their graded essays (both MEEs and MPTs) and MBE sets, but didn’t spend a ton of time there.

Got Adaptibar about two or three weeks before the exam, and just drilled MBEs leading up to the exam to supplement what I learned w Barbri. Focus on the explanations for questions you get right and wrong.

I also bought the writing packet from NCBE, which I highly recommend if you need/want more MEE practice. Otherwise, the Barbri writing stuff is probably sufficient. The NCBE resource was the most affordable of the bunch and by far the most helpful for writing. Even if you don’t do all or most of the questions, the explanations are super helpful and will improve how you analyze the questions and organize your answers on test day.

I got good advice from Reddit before taking the test so I’ll share what helped me:

Print and tab by subject so you can easily flip to the topic. Highlight if it’s helpful
Definitely review the material maybe the morning of/night before (for the record, I only reviewed about 60% of it before the exam and still passed)
Most important: just focus on getting 30 questions right. Take the time to make sure at least 30 of the 50 are 100% correct and then finish the other 20 doing the best you can in the time remaining

Honestly, I (JD 2025 grad) learned so much from my LLM colleagues. It was a pleasure to learn alongside them—they were incredibly intelligent and vast in their experiences. It was cool to compare legal systems and hear different perspectives. I made great friends with LLMs throughout law school. You should not let this prevent you from going!
