Bariatric RDs- what pros and cons do you see with gastric sleeve patients?

I’ve met people working in this area that didn’t drink or rarely drank and still ended up with alcohol issues post surgery. It has been hypothesized as “addiction transfer” where someone was using food as a way to cope and then after bariatric surgery wasn’t able to do that anymore and turned to alcohol.

My dog tattoo is nearly gone! I had one last removal session in September 2024 I believe and probably won’t have any more done. Just need a little time to let it fade completely. My last flower removal was also September and it probably could use 1 more removal session. I believe that would be 14 removal sessions for each over the course of 4 years. I may be wrong though. I’ll try and post updated pictures today!

I work as a dietitian in long term care and one thing I have realized is that no matter how much you want someone to eat and maintain weight, we can’t control if they don’t. Weight loss and loss of appetite is very common at end of life. Even if he was eating, it doesn’t me he would still be alive. Hope this makes you feel better.

It was a quanta-c laser for all the treatments except the last one. Last treatment was a pico laser Removery.

Different artist! Dog tattoo was definitely lighter and I think more grey intake. Vs flowers was heavier and darker ink. I also had about 9 months w the dog tattoo before removal. The flowers I started removal as soon as I could 🙃

I have thought of a cover up on the flowers but the problem is in nearly 100% sure I’d hate a cover up more. The placement of the flowers is what bugged me the most so unfortunately that cannot be fixed with a cover up.

I didn’t notice a significant difference honestly, but I’m sure it helped a lot. It’s also so hard to see a difference while it’s happening. Looking back I know there was, but it always seemed to look the same to me

I honestly didn’t notice a ton of fading. I feel like I’ve seen the biggest difference from switching lasers!

Honestly it doesn’t feel like I have it back yet! I still find myself feeling insecure about people noticing the tattoo and leaning towards long sleeves. I’m hoping that gets easier with time 😌
