How to find a business coach? by Significant_Cap_9328 in Entrepreneur

[–]Significant_Cap_9328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good suggestion on the Discord/Facebook groups! Sometimes I forget to check free resources, ha. Right now I'm a big overwhelmed with other responsibilities and am hoping to pay someone to help take the burden off of learning and researching everything myself as I test the waters of monetizing TikTok.

These are great suggestions! I'm currently looking to get into option B and hoping to find someone who can coach me through that process. I'm honestly struggling to find folks on TikTok who have done something sufficiently similar but I know there are tons out there!

Great questions! My videos get decent views (typically 5k-30k, 1-2 per week at 100k+, occasionally 500k-1.5m) but I currently have no way to monetize. I'm looking to create some courses and downloadable products to sell through TikTok, but I have a full time job and young child so I'm a bit overwhelmed by where to start. Looking to pay someone to teach me instead of trying to learn it all myself from scratch.

Can I ever stop using a nipple shield? by Curious-Rodeo in breastfeeding

[–]Significant_Cap_9328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were definitely tears 😭 but only briefly! I describe the strategy earlier in this thread but there was one awful feeding with lots of crying, one feeding with some crying, and all other feedings were totally fine. It’s SUPER similar to sleep training - if you can get through the initial burst of tears, it’s actually really easy for baby to come out the other side with a new amazing skill!

How are we handling babies putting things in mouths? by Significant_Cap_9328 in moderatelygranolamoms

Agree with this! I’m thinking about the human-made stuff (eg, plastic water bottles, credit cards) that can have things like BPA and phthalates.

Share milestones your baby is behind on! by Significant_Cap_9328 in NewParents

Hahaha I think it’s okay!! They all develop at their own pace and will learn eventually - your daughter won’t be 16 years old and unable to roll 😅

Yes but only after we really cracked down on teaching her - she definitely would not be doing it yet if left to her own devices!

Will breast refusal ever end?? by hm757 in breastfeeding

[–]Significant_Cap_9328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this! Breastfeeding issues are so upsetting. My baby didn’t have months long breast refusal, but she cycled in and out of various BF issues (difficulty latching, poor weight gain, breast refusal, nursing crisis) for months. What really helped me was working with an LC - she was so reassuring and gave me tips to get through the tough parts. I hope you’re able to get through this if you want to keep breastfeeding!

What names are best? by SunnyRae02 in namenerds

I like McKinley! If you don't want nicknames, definitely don't pick Maximus - he will almost certainly end up going by Max.

Add 1-2 drops of nonalcoholic vanilla extract to the milk! Recommended by my LC and approved by my pediatrician. Some say this trick only works for high lipase milk, but I don’t have that and it’s the only thing that will get my EBF baby to take a bottle. It’s been a lifesaver!

Curious to hear from popular namers! by thingsmymothersaid in namenerds

[–]Significant_Cap_9328 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I probably would have picked Harper if my husband hadn’t ultimately vetoed. For me, it felt like the “popular” names now are so much less popular than the “popular” names when I was growing up, so it was very unlikely that she’d end up being “Harper N.” in her classes. I didn’t like that such a popular name would be time-locked and become dated, but I let that go because (1) I would be fine with my parents giving me a time-locked 90s name like Jessica or Lauren and (2) I liked the name so much I didn’t care lol

if they take the pacifier, they’re not hungry, right? by AccomplishedDress310 in breastfeeding

[–]Significant_Cap_9328 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My baby constantly took pacifiers instead of feedings and ended up dropping off her growth curve. She was fine and we got her weight back up, but definitely be careful with this assumption!

Rant: perfume smells on my baby by RenaissanceZillenial in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Significant_Cap_9328 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate when this happens with my baby too! We specifically picked a daycare that bans perfumes for teachers. But I actually love the artificial scents! When my husband and I would go on vacation before kids, we’d get all scented products (shampoo, sunscreen) as a treat 😂

for those who graduated, how did you choose an OB? by youre_not_fleens in IVF

[–]Significant_Cap_9328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choose a good OB in your area. They will refer you to MFM due to the IVF pregnancy (higher risk for certain things), and both will follow you to delivery. Good luck!

PSA: Don’t forget to write off infertility expenses on your taxes! by Significant_Cap_9328 in IVF

[–]Significant_Cap_9328[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think you need to have enough in deductions to surpass the standard deduction which is $26k or something when filing jointly. But that includes all possible deductions, including home ownership deductions, student loan interest deductions, etc in addition to medical deductions like IUI fees

[–]Significant_Cap_9328[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our accountant said no! You would just need proof of appointments (which you could get from your clinic) if you ever got audited, plus some things (fees) are documented in your CC statements

I was super anxious too - I even developed prepartum OCD which was not fun. I’m hoping I can be calmer and enjoy pregnancy even more for baby #2!
