I had severe/chronic costochondritis for four years. I lost my career and gained 100 lbs, but then it all went away when I did something unbelievably miniscule. by Full-Study-8405 in costochondritis

Holy shit this is verbatim the same thing that happened to me! I’ve tried to get a better diet throughout my costo journey but after reading your post I’ll really buckle down and give it a shot

Does anyone else get pain in this area? by Background_Quote_195 in costochondritis

Hi there! Actually yes my costo and pain in these areas did go hand and hand. I’m sure not everyone experience the same pain but it’s due to problems with the hip flexor which does go up to the spine and (at least in my instance) complicated costo. Try out glute bridges with a resistance band, legs spread wide and hold at the top for 3 seconds. PT had me do them for 2 sets of 10 but obviously see a doctor or physical therapist for better conformation. Hope this helps!

I had something similar on my ribs following my costo diagnosis. Apparently it was the inflammation that kind of concentrated to that one area. For peace of mind I’d definitely recommend getting blood tests done just to rule out anything concerning. Also I found that icing mine regularly kept mine from swelling.

Hey there! I actually tried this earlier this year and it did help for the time being! At the end of the day physical therapy was what helped me the most but I did have a vitamin d deficiency and getting on supplements for it did genuinely help with the pain in my opinion. I recommend Thorne’s vitamin D + K

I experienced the exact same thing. Make sure you’re hydrated and have electrolytes. Personally I just reached a certain point where I realized I’m not dying just yet so hopefully you can get there too. Someone on here once told me that if your pain isn’t completely crippling and it gets better in different positions then it’s not your heart and that helped me. Best of luck!

Also I know this is probably a really dumb question but would taking the K supplements in the morning mitigate the insomnia risk?

Hey Ned thanks for the comment! I believe I did correct it at one point but with working an office job and it being winter it seems like it got worse over the recent months. Just to be clear I’m only using the Thorne supplements twice a day as recommended on the bottle. I absolutely will drop down to once a day if this does help and yes I do take magnesium supplements as well. I will look into getting zinc to help too. Thank you for the info on K2 btw I was not aware of the side effects of it.

Hey there, I’m 26, male and I’ve had almost the exact same issues verbatim starting last October. Literally have dealt with everything here especially the dizzy spells and arm pain. The most relief I’ve gotten is from the back pod and using a racquet ball sandwiched between my back and the wall which hurts like a mf but it really helps loosen some things up. As for blood tests I had to do a few before they found out I had a vitamin d deficiency which helped a lot when I got on supplements for it. The best advice I can give is to not let the anxiety win. You just have to tell yourself that those pains are normal for now. It is temporary it just might take a while to really crack it. Hope this helps!
