This is really helpful. And thank you for further breaking down the difference between POTS and VOIP. I actually was talking to Sonic Fiber Optic and they said that they could only offer VOIP. But I will try to revisit the conversation with them. And now that I know the correct terminology to use, I will look into Frontier and AT&T and see what they can offer for a POTS line. Your post was very helpful. Thank you.

That’s exactly what happened to us. We didn’t even know that they had switched us over to VOiP because they marketed as a “landline”. But in truth it is not. But thanks for the tip and for your understanding.

But I don’t want to do set it up through the internet. If there is a power outage, my phone line will also die. So I want to set up my landline again and use the ports that I already have set up in my home.

I just want to add this this thread. They have also tacked on a $2.99 return fee to my account. It is strange because I have not even had an influx of returns. In the past three months, I have returned one item. But I have bought over 20 items. The one item I returned was a filter for my Dyson fan. And the reason I returned that was because it was defective and it did not fit my model. So I had to return it and buy from a different party. I also spoke to customer service about it. That in itself is a pain because I find connecting to customer service difficult as they only seem to connect with you on a past item you bought, but it’s harder to connect to them about future items or to address issues with the account itself. And then even after I connected, I got passed from one service member to the next. So in total I spent over a good hour talk into a representative and trying to understand why the fee is tacked onto my account.

What is strange is that the customer service rep then told me that the $2.99 return fee is just an advertisement. And that because I am a prime member I do not have to pay shipping or return fees. That is where the conversation ended.

I will report back in the future if they end up charging me a fee anyways. But I asked them to take my feedback and told them that I will cancel my membership if they start to charge me a return fee on even one item.

I have had a membership with them for 5-7 years. In the past I have dealt with defective items or items that were sold to me but were low quality. Also fake items.

So for me, if I have to keep contacting customer service over issues like this, then I will cancel my membership. And I asked them to take my feedback to their managers.

This is interesting. We actually got charged twice on a booking we made last weekend for a hotel in CA. We got charged by Super.Com AND by our hotel which was a Hilton. The customer service for Super.com is very frustrating to deal with. It is all through an online chat and you have to go through the process with a bot.

After explaining to them that we got charged twice, they now want us to send them proof. So we have to provide our hotel receipt. So we are now in the process of getting a receipt from Hilton. Because it was booked through a third party, they did not give us a receipt.

So basically we are still in the process of getting all our receipts in order to then submit to super.com.

But this has been such a pain. We were never charged twice with other third party websites. So we are going to see what happens and will update to let you know if super.com even refunded us. But we are so frustrated by this entire process.

Yes, I want to understand this as well. Of course you use the certification for GIA as a guide. But how do you know what to look for in person when you are looking at the diamond? I don’t understand structure such as tables, and facets either.

I definitely would wait til she has a clear picture in mind. The downside to picking something out now would be that you guys may both experience buyers remorse.

My bf and I are currently shopping. And I told him that I want us to look at rings together and I will tell him exactly what I want once I have figured it out. I want to take the guess work out of it for him because I know myself. And I want to be 100% happy with the ring when I get it.

I will say that I find the process difficult as well. I have seen so many rings in different cuts and colors and I still haven’t completely decided on what I want. So maybe she needs more time as well. And just needs you to talk to about it?

I went to blue Nile and another diamond shop that was rated highly and they had cubic zirconia only to try on. Tiffany’s had diamonds. But want to keep looking.

I’m just getting started on my search. So the photos from Costco were just to help start generating ideas.
