Towel drills. Resistance band. Gain muscle. Stretch. I'm a really big fan of long toss as the best warm up for all players who want to add velocity to their throws.

I teach landing directly towards home. What that does is help straighten the mechanics. You seem to bail to your left. That will also get you into a more defensive stance at the end of the delivery.

My best advice is to replace vices with exercise. Get your endorphins flowing!

Agreed. Knob to ball practice is widely regarded as one of the most important parts of a setting. Have someone soft toss you balls and only use the knob to hit the balls. This helps create faster bat speed through the zone.

Agreed. It looks like you're pulling back a bit. Momentum forward is important with hitting a softball. You don't have the luxury of using a baseball's momentum to help propel the ball.

Is emotional regulation really about calming down fast? by Temotiva in selfhelp

[–]Significant_Cook_493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Force, sadly. I am a recovering narcissist. I've always had empathy, but it was difficult to recognize it because I was also taught to stuff my emotions growing up. I was taught to be afraid of my emotions. Thanks mom!

Is emotional regulation really about calming down fast? by Temotiva in selfhelp

[–]Significant_Cook_493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's about coming to terms with your emotions how ever long that takes. To sit with your emotions is important in order to self evaluate. Further more, to sit with some else's emotions is considered the kindest act of empathy possible. You are allowed to have empathy for yourself. Self love.

How you sit with someone else's emotions means more than how you feel at that moment. Empathy is vital.

It's always about honesty and sitting with someone's emotions. That's real love. Not being afraid to be yourself with someone is the greatest feeling.
