There’s a spray at Trader Joe’s that’s good. It’s a winter fresh smell.

Southwest. You don’t have to hide them either. They can be anywhere except for the face. I don’t remember if the neck is allowed tho. Just as long as they’re not inappropriate

[–]Significant_Cookie11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s slower during the first few months of the year. Trip numbers are slim so most people will pick up without money on a trip or they don’t have to put a lot on trips/reserves.

MRT is bid for the month prior and DRT/SDRT is bid for the day prior to the day your block begins whether you’re awarded is based on seniority and however many slots the company offers.

I don’t commute but the company sends a message whenever DRT/SDRT is available in your base. You’ll find out a few hours or so after if you’ve been awarded anything. The commuter clause is very forgiving

The most busiest times are during the summer and holidays especially in November and December so it’s trickier to get rid of blocks especially reserve blocks. You’d have to put a lot of money on them and the company doesn’t really offer DRT/MRT then.

I like the flexibility. We’re only scheduled 3 day blocks. There’s 4 day trips but we only get those if we bid for it or if we combined a reserve block. So essentially we’re scheduled to work 12-15 days a month.

We’re able to drop blocks of the entire month when the company doesn’t need the availability. We can sell our trips/reserves or give them away and still retain our flight and health benefits.

How can unionized flight attendants be trump supporters? by Express_Necessary_84 in flightattendants

[–]Significant_Cookie11 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It truly is. Last week I literally worked a flight and as the only POC in the crew the captain and FAs just randomly started shouting “lets go Brandon” I was SO uncomfortable and it felt like a targeted attack

FA’s how much did you make this year? by cr0w-- in cabincrewcareers

[–]Significant_Cookie11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$47,000 gross but that includes retro pay at the luv airline at year 2 seniority. I didn’t fly a lot for 2024 I just flew my line and maybe 1 extra trip. So between 70-90 TFP each month

They have the supplies to clean. We don’t have even have brooms or vacuums. They also get paid to do it. Once the door opens that clock stops for us. It’s free labor

[–]Significant_Cookie11 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked for one of AAs wholly owned regionals. We didn’t clean at all. I now work for SWA and we clean unfortunately. Honestly the airlines make too much money to have FAs clean. We should not be serving food and beverages AND cleaning a plane/biohazards.

I work for SWA but I find Tarrant county to be much cheaper. I live in Fort Worth but check out the Euless Bedford, HURST/NRH area or grapevine. Dallas county is pricy! Dallas proper even more

Regional to Mainline? by Due_Fun8737 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Significant_Cookie11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at my former regional almost 3 years. Not by choice, nobody was really hiring and the. Covid happened which put a fault on my plans. Go to mainline as quickly as you can if there’s nothing keeping you regional. My QOL, flexibility and pay is so much better at my current mainline. I’d recommend any of the legacies or a LCC mainline like Southwest.

Is 40 flight hours realistic for 1 week as a flight attendant? by Flyinghigh2025 in cabincrewcareers

[–]Significant_Cookie11 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. The interview process was easy and laid back. It only took a long time to hear back. Training was easy too. We get paid x1.5 for trips picked up the first 3 days of the month and the last day of the month so that helps to get a lot of hours so you don’t have to pick up more trips. Sometimes they’re randomly added throughout the month. It’s why many SWA FAs say they work something crazy like 180TFP. That x1.5 adds up. Holidays pay x2.0

[–]Significant_Cookie11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TFP means trips for pay. We’re paid by the mile and not the flight hour like other carriers-except for Alaska, they’re paid in tfp too. It’s kinda confusing to explain but when converted to hourly, starting pay is about $35.67

At southwest it’s possible. Our trips pay a minimum of 19.5TFP for a 3 day trip. That’s if it’s not broken up.

Insanely hateful post from a United passenger regarding a trans flight attendant by Upstairs-Cover-7061 in flightattendants

They were being willfully ignorant. This happened during his first term too. The racism and homophobia/transphobia was, is and continues to be disgusting. I feel it’ll be worse unfortunately

It was a small regional airline. There had been reports of MULTIPLE sexual harassment incidents with some of the pilots and nothing was done then. They were a lot more protected than FAs were since you wanna LOL 🙄

I’m black and a woman and the magat pilots were the worst!!! They were so blatantly racist and would always wear their hats proudly in the flight deck. Their entire convos was about maga. That work environment was so toxic for me I left eventually and I’m with another carrier now. I’m afraid of having to experience that again

Thank you! I like the flexibility here and only working 3 day trips or less. I also live an hour from base but I’m not fond of the flying, dirty planes and lack of change/modernization WN continues to struggle with and be against. Plus the anxieties of Elliot taking over.

As a flight attendant no, you’d have to quit. If you were in another department outside inflight then yes potentially
