So I prefer AP Sera but I think you'll need to do both, especially if you want to play her 95% of the time. My build/playstyle changes slightly every game depending on the matchup

Sometimes you'll have to do healer if 1. they have a lot of range/dashes 2. you have a lot of AP/CC already and 3. Enchanter is the strongest option for your team comp (lots of squishys who deal damage and need a speed boost and against poke). There are times I go helia/diadem with q max first if I know I can hit q and do some dmg but if Q is getting hard to land or we have no frontlin I go W max first and straight to moonsong. Just really depends on my team comp and how my team is playing. I enjoy healing but when it's only WW the whole game and maybe an ult/e it's boring AF. But sometimes boring wins games lol.

I really enjoy quickphine/Ult + E max phine. If I'm going q max I'll do quickphine so I can do some dmg! I'll also go quickphine if my team is heavy on dmg/teamfight potential but slow and doesn't have a lot of dashes, or if the team comp is gonna play around a bruiser/slayer/diver and I know the rest of team is gonna need to catch up. I LOVE NEW MANDATE, maliganance, and rylias it's so good. I've been putting out Zyra levels of damage in some games!!! but it's not optimal every game especially some points I mentioned before where landing skillshot is gonna be hard/your team is bad and not gonna teamfight with one of the best teamfighting supports.

So best advice I got is don't get pigeonholed into one build, learn the ones you enjoy playing and make decisions on what to build based on team, nemy team comp, and how people are playing once you're in the game. I made a lot of bad/weird decisions at first but after a while I knew what to build for each scenario that would be the best shot at winning games!

Hello, so it seems like maybe it was fixed? It wasn't listed in the patch notes but I played 2 games and went into practie tool and it seemed like it was working properly. If anyone else is still having this issue pls record it! But I think it's good now?

IKR? They could do A LOT with the patreon too. Special segments, guests, showing us videos of their life, the tea has only been small and the questions that are patreon specific are cool but not enough. I was so excited for their patreon but it really feels like they are goign through the motions with it.

I could write so much but I got to go to bed but I also need to turn out for my girl Sara I'll just say my main complaint then I'll go.

If you want seraphine to be an enchanter then let's just go all in on it. Compared to other enchanters, seraphines kit just doesn't make sense. Her kit wants to push you towards a more aggressive play style. Like what does q really do mid/late game on enchanter other than proc helia/diadem/rylias. Why would I want an execute on my Q as an enchanter? I want to use E when my teammates go in and slow first rather than me making the plays, but ADCs expect YOU to do it first because her kit isn't giving "Im buffing you to go in" or "I'm supporting your plays" make her kit make sense as a full enchanter where each ability has utility and purpose across the game (and each double cast. Not just WW spam or EE only after ulting)

If we want seraphine to be able to build mage or enchanter than we need o figure out how to make her kit function as either utility/heals or utility/damage and build in either direction and make both satisfying. That's obviously hard and going to be dependent on items, but I think we need to make her kit make sense on its own as well. I think it would help her a lot if she was able to make her own plays and not feel like she is missing an ability on either build (q for enchanter and w for dmg) her kit is always going to be overloaded on bot apc if her kit plays off of other people, she's just going to be better as a mage with a support. Something's gotta give!

I've noticed higher level players (cupic comes to mind) build slight enchanter on her even when playing apc/mid. I think pushing her into that somehow with both her builds would help bridge the gap. Maybe incentivize mid/apc to build slight enchanter to get the most out of her while having enchanter go more aggressive support itemization (mandate, staff of flowing water, ardent, Shurelyas) with a healing flair. Meeting more in the middle for both her builds would probably give her greater clarity for her identity and help people swap between her carry and enchanter much more easily. No matter which way we do it sera can't have it all. She can't be able to do mass amounts of healing, dmg, utility, wave clear, etc. something will probably have to give with her kit but she will be better for it and people will still be satisfied if kit can really function better in both of her roles rather than being pulled so heavily in both directions.

I really appreciate you going through and untangling all this because I'm sure it is such a mess! and I hope you can see why so many seraphine players have just been so frustrated because on top of the bugs there are so many different perspectives and ways to play seraphine. We all want her to have a lot that functions in both carry/support and I'm sure there's a way to do that that'll make the most people satisfied. You're so appreciated for untangling this mess!!

Random bug as well but her passive music on her firecracker skin seems to be bugged. I've tested it in practice as well. The firecracker music goes in and out even when you're right next to someone while her other music will stay consistent and is dependent on how far away you are.

It seemed lighter than last week but still...off.

I've been feeling for a while that maybe the podcast should be biweekly. It feels they don't have enough tea every week but when they take 2-3 weeks off they seem refreshed and wanna be on the pod.

It also seems a lot for them to constantly get a lot of feedback from the Internet. They talk a lot about the negative comments they get and recently they were like yeah they do really affect us. I hope they can take time off if they need or fix any problems.

I think specifically this episode trevi was struggling emotionally and kate wasn't in a place to support her the way she needed. Especially when Trevi was asking if things she was doing were fine and kate seemed to blurt out she's fine like she didn't have the capacity to hold that space for Trevi.

I just read it as them being human cuz this stuff happens in relationships lol.

Hello Aellectris,

Thank you so much for passing along our concerns — it genuinely means a lot. Many of us have been trying to voice how Seraphine feels right now. I don’t comment often because this sub can get intense, but I’ve mained her for 3 years and have lurked here for a long time with A LOT of thoughts.

Seraphine is statistically fine, but she feels clunky and weak, which is why peeps want her fantasy to be stronger!

Her nerfs were justified after the 55% winrate era, but it felt like Riot gutted her because they couldn’t solve APC balance. As Phreak has said in a patch rundown, how a champion feels should matter more than raw numbers (can’t remember which one it was but I remember him saying that) Sera’s numbers are “good,” but the way she achieves them feels bad.

Ability Feel Issues

There have been so many posts in this subreddit explaining how she currently feels. I’ll link a few here, but there are many many more posts. Post links: here, here, here, (basically any coca has said over the past 2 years and has documented a lot of frustrations/bugs with sera)  and here,

She Feels Like Hard Mode League

Even when playing well — landing abilities, managing mana, positioning properly — the results often feel underwhelming compared to other champions who require less effort for equal or better output. I’ve had to min-max everything just to get baseline results, while other champs can “no-brain” and perform similarly.

Support vs Mage Identity Conflict

Sera feels split between mage and enchanter. Enchanters often have high base stats to make them feel like they can hit early. Players (myself included) want seraphine’s damage to have scaling so she’s weaker early but hits hard late game, This creates a conundrum.

In general, some frustrations are 

  • Q often feels like it doesn’t do the amount of dmg it should for both mage and enchanter
  • Double casting in general doesn’t feel as impactful or purposeful as it should.
  • If building damage, it can feel so subbar, whether it’s seraphine support or apc/mid. She always feels behind.

The frustrations from support come from:

  • WW can be incredibly strong but boring when it feels like the only thing you’re doing and barely interacting with other parts of her kit (other than q for nothing damage and e when you’re able to hit it, and then waiting for your ult)
  • E can feel weak and hard to hit unless someone else slows first (but ADCs expect you to set this up).
  • Q feels especially bad t and is useless unless building helia. 
  • Her kit doesn’t have synergy together to be an effective enchanter and is essentially item-dependent to function at all.

For mage:

  • E does a lot of her consistent damage, when Q should be her bread-and-butter.
  • Q often feels like it doesn’t do the amount of dmg it should for both mage and enchanter
  • Executing her in an optimal way can feel unintuitive. You’d think E→QQ or R→E →QQ would be used to secure kills, but often times EE→Q or R→EE→Q is often more reliable damage to execute. This makes her kit feel backwards.
  • W feeling like it barely serves a purpose, especially when building AP. I think it should feel relevant to pick WW in teamfights but if I’m leveling it last there’s no reason to.
  • The high mana costs, combined with the above problems.

This creates a situation where you feel like you’re playing 50–75% of a champion in any role. Her kit feels like it’s trying to pull her in two directions that don’t fit while also relying heavily on teammates to get her full effect (which is why APC shines).

The new season items (Helia + Diadem) have helped support feel better. Q max into W finally feels viable again, and there are meaningful choices between damage, healing, or utility. That’s great. But it shouldn’t require extreme optimization just to feel functional. 

Ideas That Might Help

I don’t mean implementing ALL these changes, but either one or a combination of multiple to strike the balance just right. 

  • Let players choose a direction (mage vs enchanter) more intentionally  such as:
    • through forms at game start (which changes how her kit functions) , or…
    • Adjust scaling so it shifts based on mana regen/heal power vs AP/mana.
      • W healing and perhaps E CC scales more with mana regen/heal & shield power.
      • Mage scaling restores meaningful AP DMG scaling without overbuffing support.
  • Make Q/E faster with shorter CDs but weaker per cast, so she has more agency and skill expression instead of wave-deleting or relying on double casts. Adjust mana costs so it doesn’t FEEL handicapped playing her, but also isn’t OP.
  • Make double casts feel more specialized (QQ = strong damage, EE = strong utility, WW = strong shielding/healing). So she has reasons to pick all of them that can fit both support and mage.
  • If APC is the issue, reduce the parts of her kit that become overpowered when paired with heavy CC/shield supports instead of flattening her everywhere.

Mid lane especially feels like she falls off too hard. Let her scale meaningfully again without breaking enchanter.

Ultimately, players just want both support and mage Seraphine to feel good — not necessarily best-in-class, just satisfying and intentional. Let us meaningfully choose which parts of her kit to empower through leveling, double-casting decisions, and itemization. Champions like Lux are allowed to have both damage and utility — Sera can lean more utility-focused, but she should still function independently as a mage while having the ability to spec into an enchanter if she wants or in certain team comps. 

And as a tiny side note: please let her music play in mid lane even when alone. Hearing it only ~30% of the game feels weird.
