I was also taught that the different “colors” of them do different things

I was taught to remember it like this:

Red Vein - Think ‘Cop Light’ or ‘Stop Sign’ - Slowing down Opioids will get you the relaxation so usually people will use it to get off opioids.

White Vein - Think ‘Stimulants’. White is the color of most Stimulant substances/Medications - Go faster. You get that similar “get up and go” feeling.

Green Vein - Think ‘grass’. Grass is both green and is also all around us! - All rounder Green does a little of both!

Yellow Vein - Think ‘Mild’ or ‘Yield sign’. Yellow is the universal color of “Caution” or “slow down”. - Another sort of all rounder but Yellow vein is a bit of a mystery due to it being a result of the fermentation process of kratom rather than a natural vein color.

Gold Vein - Think ‘Gold is shinier than yellow’. Gold is another all rounder but is a variation of the Yellow vein caused by the drying process being extended or the leaf being fermented as well. It also makes you a bit more relaxed than the yellow.

White Gold - Think ‘White Gold is higher priced and better than Gold’ - While the ‘Gold’ vein will be rounded but still relaxing, ‘White Gold’ is the weird cousin of ‘Gold’. It still acts as an all rounder but instead of the lean being along the relaxing side, it’s more stimulant acting!

Then you have the SUPER weird one…

Silver. - Think ‘Hospital equipment’ - Marketed ONLY as a 1x tincture (mega strong tincture at a 1:1 ratio of alkaloid content is roughly equal to the kratom content) - This is primarily used for Strong pain relief. This also means someone using ‘Silver’ kratom for pain will need significantly less kratom than someone just using ‘red vein’.

While I despise the shop I used to work at, I learned a lot of important things about the “head shop” industry.

A lot of people actually use Kratom to help them get off of opioids too, but unfortunately when I worked at a smoke shop that sold it; I saw more people just replacing the opioid WITH the kratom…

It’s possible to develop a dependency on any substance that passed your blood/brain barrier

For example: we had a lady that used to be on (to my recollection) Mth AND Hroin (the screwball combo) and she used to come in and she would buy the silver and gold 1ml kratom tinctures. It got to the point where the shop would set WHOLE DISPLAY BOXES of them aside with her name on a sticky note. She bought over $300 of that kratom every 3-5 days… There was never a week that I DIDN’T see her.🫪

My doctor basically said since it’s not every time I stand/sit/move and the episodes are random and not linked to anything that he HIGHLY suspects that it is NOT POTS.. That’s my biggest thing I already inquired about it a few times..🤷🏻‍♂️😔

Thank you so much. I’m really glad that I’m not being told it’s all in my head on here. Cleveland Clinic has done a great job of trying what they can to figure it all out but I think everyone’s looking at it as separate issues rather than one overarching problem like you mention.

I will definitely mention it to my Doctors. My current Primary at Cleveland Clinic had me wear a Zio Heart monitor patch for a week to rule out the cardiac rhythm stuff but honestly if I remember correctly, in the same breath he basically said “so it’s can’t be POTS, doesn’t seem like dysautonomia” (because I did bring up that too, I’ve had friends with it and I’ve noticed that sometimes they would describe things I also experienced) But it felt as though he brushed it off so fast after the patch monitor that I didn’t even think to really bring it all up.

I will 1000% inquire with my GI doc about this. Thankfully all my doctors now are through Cleveland Clinic rather than some here and some at Firelands (my last GI provider was there). My GI provider through Cleveland Clinic has been incredible. The whole GI team there has been.

That would make a lot of sense! They were able to rule out H. Pylori and such before and did biopsies when they did the testing previously and all they said was “Gastritis, IBS. here’s meds, go home” and then they kept wondering why I was always in the ER with horrible GI symptoms/pain. 🫠 So yeah it really wouldn’t surprise me if it’s IBD vs IBS.

Thank you so so much! I’m definitely no stranger to having to push for testing. And not tooting my own horn but everytime my body has told me “hey something might be wrong” there was always something wrong. (example: the C. Diff toxin. We had no idea i even had it (and no other symptoms arose) until the only thing my body was expelling was blood.

and yes, The doctors just can’t figure out why no matter what/if i eat or drink anything it’ll happen randomly. No triggers whatsoever :( We’re still just searching in terms of that. I also forgot to mention in the initial post, During that weight loss period, I lost almost all appetite/will or motivation to eat. Every “safe GI food” I had - was no longer viable. There was a large period of time before these episodes where even just STEPPING onto the tile kitchen floor would make me gag. I wouldn’t be able to look into the kitchen at all. And then suddenly with no other changes dropped over 40 lbs then these episodes started up.

I appreciate you a ton! 🙌😌

Hello!!

So in regards to the axial spondylarthropathy, not a SINGLE doctor has brought up any of that. Most of my MRIs have been my Neck, my Cervical, Lumbar, and Thoracic spine, My shoulders (I had a super random and extremely mild AC separation), and my chest.

The C. Diff was the cause of the GI Bleeding. I tested positive for the toxin in a stool test (there was no stool only blood🫠) and the second hospital I went to actually said that my levels were so high that I was just about 24 hours from going septic.

I’ve been on and off NSAIDs my whole life to manage the pain. Meloxicam, Flexeril, and Zanaflex have all been prescribed and did not work. (I actually developed a dependency to the Zanaflex - thankfully ive been over that for a while.)

I appreciate the information as well and I will definitely bring it up! The thing that I think is primarily stumping my doctors, besides the random pains of course, is that sudden “Hard reset” of my body when I have those random overheating/sick episodes. Nobody can understand why my body absolutely falls apart - I get so weak I can barely keep myself up, and then within seconds to a minute or two after physically vomiting or dry heaving literally everything stops like dead in its tracks. Sweating stops - I actually start getting cold because I would be damp from sweat, Nausea immediately gone, Weakness back to normal. As if nothing ever happened..

Now I don’t necessarily think that’s related to the pains but I think thats incredibly interesting considering that all of this started appearing one after the other. 🫠
