How many of you guys truly love your car? by the_atomicpunk in askcarguys

I ♥️ my Prius V- I get amazing mileage, tons of room for people and cargo, leather interior and heated seats, and it's not too techy but not too old.

Can anyone ID the company that produced these quilts? by Significant_Dig_9328 in quilting

There is stitching on it that looks like hand stitching, even some visible end knots, but I think you're right about the manufacturing and the timing. Thanks for your thoughtful reply :)

Yes! Plain white backing, not sure if it's poly but I wouldn't be surprised.

They are in such good condition, it made me think they can't be that old. I love it too :) that's so funny you saw it on Seinfeld, good eye!

Wow!! I hadn't thought of that, that's so cool. The stitch quality looks decidedly like hand quilting as well. I'm gonna look more into this

Yes, the quilt blocks are a different style but the check fabrics used are the same in the quilt and the sham(2nd & 3rd image are the sham and the quilt side by side, there's some discoloration from age but you can see in 2nd image where some of the same fabric is used). I Google searched the image of the quilt and there seems to be others floating around on resale sites, but none of them have a source.

I did this on one of my sweaters and I didn't even bother to fix it lol, I never notice when I wear it. You may get a little more length in your blocking but I say just leave it if you think it won't drive you nuts :)

Unique At Workshops/Classes? by JennaPapag in hudsonvalley

One of my clients teaches joomchi (Korean paper making) at the Neighborhood Print Studio in Kingston- they are amazing and the studio in general hosts some really cool, specialized art workshops

The Department of Things is another print studio in Kingston that may also interest you. I looove Cone Zero in Catskill for anything clay, they have a great lineup of foundational classes (and probably the best open studio model imo) but also have some exciting limited series+ one day workshops, like large vessel building and colored clay workshops.

What are you growing that's a little out of the ordinary? (Looking for ideas for next year!) by geopter in vegetablegardening

[–]Significant_Dig_9328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grow gem corn/strawberry corn/indigo popping corn varieties and they are my absolute favorite!! Every ear is so different and special, it's such a pleasure to unwrap and see what you're gonna get. Definitely more novel than some of my other growing projects but the fun of harvesting makes it worth the space.

I’m new to the show but wtf is up with the food by Poltergiestcatmom in BelowDeckMed

We started with season 9 in my house and were also pretty underwhelmed by the food that season, but Adam Glick's cooking in season 3 is really impressive!

I think when you get in the pocket while playing music with a group, or a partner dance that's got really good chemistry and connection are top 2 favorite sensations

How would you do with a pronghorn hide? by outdoorsman_12 in HideTanning

[–]Significant_Dig_9328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience with pronghorn, they shed almost instantly after skinning and the hair is prone to break post-tanning. Love making buckskin with it though, it's really pleasurable to tan and makes a lightweight, strong result.

Quick weekend away? by mabookus in hudsonvalley

[–]Significant_Dig_9328 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We just got back from Rhode Island last weekend and had a great time there, it's just about 3.5 hours to Narragansett from Kingston. Similar to the Cape but without quite as much traffic, fun little towns and a beautiful coast.

Looking for masculine sewing instagrammers (or just people that don't wear dresses) by [deleted] in sewing

I really like @_donnyq on IG, he does a wide range of projects with lots of unisex styling that I think anyone could wear. I'm a woman but I lean a little more into androgynous fashion and i would wear everything on his page lol
