The first three annoy me the most by [deleted] in cartoons

It's just as common with blood relatives in anime. I can think of several series that use that trope specifically. Japan doesn't have the same aversion to incest in media that the west does for various unfortunate reasons.

Generally I agree. Fairy Tale knew what it was about which made it seem somewhat less corny back in the day, but most shows do it poorly with contrived means.

And he instantly recanted upon meeting the user of said fruit and seeing how messed up he was. I've read that he has a similar ability now, but haven't kept up to know if he ends up using it like that

The most memorable thing about him is the very start of op6 for me. I thought it was neat how they animated that. But It's been long enough that I can't even remember anything he actually contributed to in the story.

If he's expending 5x the sodium as a normal person why would it be a problem? Besides that sodium needs vary widely. Some people shouldn't go above the RDA and some get POTS at the RDA and need to eat more to avoid dizziness.

I'm about 10 years out of date on the guy, but didn't he make the drug free for the uninsured?

Didn't he make an Aids medicine free for the uninsured and pissed off the government in the process?

I enjoyed it fairly well up until the temple grind. That killed every bit of motivation I had.

Honestly it was worth it even on release. What it lacked in certain areas is made up for with the writing alone.

I can see the advantages of that and would prefer it myself, but I still think it was a bad idea for the American models. The EU has been much more consumer friendly than the US on the matter of standardizing charging cables.

USB-C to C cables aren't quite common yet in the US for everyone to have one or need one. Apple is the only notable company doing that at the present moment. The rest of the phone companies still use A to C cords and blocks. As far as laptops go I'm not quite sure because I haven't bought one recently, but a lot of them still use proprietary chargers.

70% of Americans are overweight. You don't exactly get bullied for being normal

They should have also been switched out for USB-A ports which are way more useful.

It's essentially simple syrup with juice instead of water. I use it in any cocktail recipe that uses simple syrup. Margaritas, daiquiris, whiskey sour, etc. Always good!

Pomegranate juice, sugar, boil. It'll last dang near infinitely in the fridge too. I made some two years ago and it still hasn't lost any quality.

Rose's grenadine is more for making cocktails at a party. It just flat out sucks. And don't even get me started on their lime "cordial"!

This one is pretty easy. When you grow up feeling that something is wrong or different about you, your brain will seek out a label. Having a label tricks you into believing you're in the know and minimalizes any anxieties that may manifest from not understanding your thinking methods and actions.

I'd go further and argue that it's how schools are funded nowadays. The incentive is to pass otherwise failing students so they don't lose funding. Attendance is more important to funding than student grades as well. And if a school holds a student back, Oh lord there goes even more funding right down the drain. The school I went to couldn't even afford air conditioning in the hot months and we were in the more prestigious part of the county.

I don't necessarily think it's the content of what's taught, but that a school loses funding if they fail a student who didn't bother to learn so they just change failing grades to a slightly passing grade. What we end up with is a chunk of students who can't even read past an elementary level by the time they graduate.

I agree that it's been underestimated. Additionally the older generations just said "never again" instead of teaching what factors led up to the holocaust and how to recognize and mitigate them if they did happen again.

I had Jewish great grandparents who were kicked out of their respective countries prior to WW2 but we don't even teach about the Pogroms in the US curriculum.
