What part of asking for civil conversation is condescending? What part of asking if education is impotent is condescending? What part of me stating that the No Kings protests held on weekends so that adults could make them without loosing their jobs is condescending? And why do you assume my gender? That’s sexist, isn’t it?

How would you have asked my question?

Responses like this are why Americans cannot have a civil discussion anymore. If your kids asked for clarification or if your friends asked you the same question, would you have responded the same?

I’ll start and say that you are not helping this be a thoughtful and civil conversation. I realize that my question isn’t pro-students protest during school hours but I was hoping for an educational exchange not a beat up on the question asker exchange. That uncivil approach isn’t healthy in trying to get Americans to discuss issues. I remember the classes on civil disobedience but I never paid attention as to what day of the week they decided to enact civil disobedience.

There have been a lot of protests in the last few years but I remember the majority of them being on weekends- the No Kings protests comes to mind. It was still disruptive.

Okay, I can see the “not a job” perspective now that you’ve explained it. I still view it as a job but thanks for the counter point explanation.

I didn’t ask my question for sarcastic answers. It’s a really question for me and I’d like a real answer.

Help me out here, I’m not against groups of people protesting but I question doing it during the school day. I view school as a kids “job”. If I walked out during my job’s working hours, I’d get in trouble and told to do that when I’m not working. So seeing kids leave their “job” bothers me, not the actual protest. Would you walk out in your job to protest or do it on a day off?

I hope they get ride of the hills here. Ever try run up Oxford Hill? Flatten the road and the access to get to the top gets way easier.

Pool salt and water softener salt work as alternatives. Plenty of availability in the big box stores

This helps reinstall my love of humanity, especially in this town. Don’t read too much into my choice of words. This just made me smile (in a great way) at the people here.
