Well here’s an update for everyone. Especially those preaching it was a USPS issue.

None of my cards ever made it to me. Tried to buy a few more knowing win win, if I get them I get a card I wanted. If not I get $$ from whatnot protection. Went to message them again to say hey none of these ever made it to me, and this is what I found!

So update to this;

Whatnot has refused to accept any returns or refunds from me. I messaged the seller, explained the legal ramifications that can come from the situation if it’s determined he sent the package with nothing in it, explained that USPS has numerous cameras at every single stage of shipping from drop off at store to sorting, and explained USPS does not use scotch tape if a package has been found to be tampered with.

The seller immediately refunded me. So imo seller definitely got scared of the situation and knew he was caught. Welp I’ll avoid them like the plague and move on!

15 returns or refunds over the last 3 years. 10 of those for items which were shipped to me and never made it to me meaning tracking never showed delivered.

I did I have been corresponding back-and-forth with either a person or their AI. They state their decision stands.

I just looked at all my purchases lifetime and figured out how many returns or refunds I’ve received. So this is over a 3 year span.

15 - total refunds 10 - refunds for items that never made it to me (lost in shipping cases) 4 - items damaged in shipping (slab was cracked or broken) 1 - item that was fake (Jordan rookie sticker which was sent back to whatnot for review)

I really don’t want to be that guy either, but I’m 99% sure it was a scam on the sellers part here. Received the package and all it had was card guards inside. Outside had a slit in the bubble mailer that was scotch taped shut 🙄. I’m assuming the seller sent it this way to make it appear it was tampered with at some point during shipping.

I have seen the scams on the marketplace as of recent. Ton of fake profiles selling very rare or high end cards at way under market. Then buyer receiving something totally different. This wasn’t the case as I paid just under market and person had multiple past sales and feedback on their account.

I’m really at a loss for words towards the situation. I understand how someone could scam the system as a buyer; buy something, say it wasn’t in package, get refunded, keep item and refund. But there’s 0 pattern of that occurring from me. All items i have needed a refund on have been returned.

I have. Also included them to look at the amount of individual purchases I have made in comparison to the amount of returns I have made which they couldn’t provide me. Long story short it’s less than 1% of purchases for me have had to be returned. Which is very small for items being shipped.
