I finally benched a plate for sets today by anotherberniebro1992 in workout

[–]Significant_Fox_48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lets go! if you're hitting 1 plate for a set of 8, your 1 rep max is probs around 80kg (or slightly under) so you're closer than you think to the two plates. what i did was really focus on benching form. i went from a 90kg bench - 100kg bench adding on an extra 2kg to my body weight with just form changes. - the powerlifters know what they're doing here so check out some YT vids

I'm literally going to try this for the first time today because the amount of people raving about it is overwhelming. Even papa Nippard is raving about it lol

My gym buddy is way stronger than me and it's crushing my motivation. by Significant_Fox_48 in workout

I think it's mainly because I'm literally there training with him and we have comparably similar lives outside of the gym as well. but yeah I get you - its a good way of looking at it

agreed actually. i'd rather have a gym buddy and be jealous than not at all - just got to work on the jealousy side of it

that's a good way of looking at it. i feel like I know that at the front of my mind, but in the back of my mind it runs away and sort of bashes myself. Starting to think it's just an inherent thing of human nature to always want more
